WTFL RULES
***NOTE: WE OF THE WTFL STAFF ASK THAT ALL OF OUR MEMBERS ABIDE BY THESE RULES WHICH WE HAVE SET FORTH. IF IT COMES TO OUR ATTENTION THAT A WTFL MEMBER IS VIOLATING THESE RULES, THE STAFF WILL TALK TO THEM INDIVIDUALLY ABOUT IT AND, IF NECESSARY, TAKE ACTION TO DISIPLINE SUCH MEMBERS.***
- To compete at the WTFL you must first create an original wrestler and have it posted at the WTFL web site. When you’re creating your character, be realistic. We don’t like characters that are eight feet tall and weigh six hundred pounds but have a swanton bomb or a 450 splash in their move lists. If you submit an unrealistic character, it will be returned to you and you will be asked to resubmit a more realistic character.
- Once your profile is on the WTFL web page, you are officially a member. In order to make a name for yourself in the WTFL, you need to feud with opponents and work your way up the ladder of success. To do this, you need to role play (RP). Role playing can consist of making challenges, badmouthing an opponent, talking about an upcoming match, and the like. These RPs should be written in a way that makes sense. Illegible RPs will not be taken into consideration when deciding the winners to matches, and are frowned upon.
- Role plays are "in character" posts, which means they are made as if you are playing the role of your wrestler. When RPing (in particular, when developing your character), keep in mind that the WTFL is not supposed to be a ‘fake’ federation like the WWF. In the WTFL, there is no such thing as pretending to hate your adversary, nor are the results predetermined. The WTFL is supposed to be a competitive fighting league, like the UFC.
- "Out of character" posts are being made by you the person. We encourage you to talk out of character to other wrestlers to talk about their RPs, gimmicks, etc.
- However, do not post anything that doesn’t involve the WTFL. There is a General Discussion Forum at mcrook for a reason. Or you can chat with someone via other means (AIM, ICQ, PMs, etc). Please don’t clutter our board with off-topic posts, because they will be deleted.
- No insulting other posters or arguing out of character, this place is meant to be fun. We are very strict about this. Most people work hard on what they do. If you have a problem with someone, discuss it with them through some other means than the FL board. We will close and delete off-topic arguments if necessary.
- You must roleplay well and frequently if you want your wrestler to move up in the rankings. All winners are judged by roleplays, unless other circumstances (such as pushing certain plotlines or feuds for a PPV) are necessary in determining the outcome of a match.
- All roleplays must be based on things that have happened in the weekly results. Pointless roleplays will not help you advance in this fed. The majority of every roleplay should somehow involve occurrences in the League.
- You cannot use another wrestler in your roleplays without their permission. Badmouthing your opponents and talking about other wrestlers is fine but they can't be involved in the action of the roleplay.
- Do not advertise other e-feds at the Fantasy League or you will be banned.
- If you have been asked to leave the WTFL or have been banned, we request that you honor our decision and leave. If the staff finds out that you have joined again or are causing problems, you will once again be removed and banned, and WrestlingTalks moderators will be notified about the incident.
- Do not post matches on the cards if your opponents haven't agreed to the match.
- If you are good enough to win a title that doesn't mean you should stop roleplaying. It seems that some people feel they don't need to roleplay after winning belts, but that is not true. If the staff members notice a champion is not roleplaying we will have them lose the belt to someone else.
- You cannot hold two title at one time. The only exception is holding one singles title and ½ of the Tag Team Titles. If by some chance you do happen to win two titles we will give you the option of choosing which you want to keep and then the creative team will decide what to do with the other one.
- Make an attempt to read the results to every show. It really helps to keep up to date with the storylines.
- We encourage all members to rate the weekly results. Each booker puts a lot of work into their show and complements are the only rewards we can give them.
- If you want your wrestler to interfere in a match or want something special involving your wrestler to happen on one of the shows please contact the booker of that show about it by way of private messages. If that booker receives the request early enough before his show and feels there's good reason to add the request to the results he will.
- If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions about the WTFL in general please contact one of the WTFL staff members.
