Cetus

Cetus is a large, obscure constellation. Under very good conditions, you might be able to see the two ovals that make up Cetus. The interesting part about Cetus is Mira, the prototype long-period variable star.

Mira

Mira was the first long-period variable star to be discovered. The magnitude of Mira varies greatly from 10 to 2. The period of Mira is almost a year.
