Rikard what's up? How has the new album III selling how has the fan response been?

The response has been really cool so far. I've read a lot of really cool reviews and people say that it's a cool fucking CD and so on. Needless to say it's been a few bad reviews as well but that's how it is you know. I don't know how that actual sales are though. I guess they're all right as I haven't heard any complaints. Ha, ha, ha.

Tell me a little history on the name of the new album III? What was some other names you where going to call the new album?

We were discussing the title for a while. Mean, the title is a pretty important thing after all. It's fucking stupid. Ha, ha, ha. We did come up with some cool stuff but it all sounded quite standard "death metal´ish" if you know what I mean? Felt like one had heard it like thousands times before so. I came up with "I I I" and the rest of the guys liked it so we went for that. I like that title. There's been some quite.how shall I put it.not that positive reactions on the title you know. Ha, ha, ha. Mean, after all "I I I" is probably not an title people except from an supposed overly "brutal death metal" band like Deranged. Ha, ha, ha. I like the title. It says itself pretty much. It's after all our third CD, the third label we're on and so on. It's cool! It's simple. The other names? Can't remember.

Now there has been some confusion on the High on Blood album most people don't even no that the album ever came out. And now that album seems to be impossible to find. Why is this? Does Regain Records still press this album? And since there doing such a shitty job with it are you looking for another label to press it?

When we like "left" Repulse we signed for Regain and it all started out really cool, then it was just downward. Ha, ha, ha. A lot of people kept telling us they couldn't get hold on the CD and shit. No real promotion was done either and it came to a point where we said like "Fuck.we got to find something else as this isn't working out". We had been working like fucking idiots with High on blood you know so it felt everything but "good". Luckily we were free to leave Regain, which was a nice gesture from their side, and we hooked up with Listen able! There's a demand for the High on blood CD. I wouldn't say that there's a lot of labels that wants to press it. I know like 4 or 5 but I don't know. The CD is naturally owned by Regain and they don't seem to like the idea about having another label release it on license so. I don't want to like deal with any labels and shit. I hate the business side of this whole thing. We're just trying to forget the whole thing about High on blood and Regain and just concentrate on the present and the future instead you know.

I've been anticipating Deranged to come through America for awhile I keep waiting for you to come and play the Ohio death fest. When are your plans to come to America?

I don't have a clue!!! We'll fly over to Japan in October / November for like 5 gigs. That's fucking cool! Ha, ha, ha. As for America. As said, I don't know. I don't think any of our CD's are out on license in the States yet so it'll be hard to get some financial support you know. We'll just see what happens. There's been some small talk about the Ohio fest. in fact so who knows?

The Sweden scene seems to have some killer bands coming out of it lately. How is the scene there? What are some Sweden bands that match up to Deranges brutality?

It's been indeed popping up a few brutal acts in Sweden lately. It's cool. The Swedish and the Scandinavian scene have been dominated by black metal and / or "melodic death metal" the last couple of years which isn't my coup of tea really. Ehm. Some cool bands would be Defaced Creation, Kaamos, Soils of Fate, Divine Desecration, Immersed in Blood, Catacomb, Spawn of Possession. I don't know. There's a good bunch of them anyway. Ha, ha, ha. It's cool!

Now I've noticed on all the Deranged full lengths there is always one song that starts with the word Razor. Why is this?

God damn, you're right! I haven't thought about that myself. It's rather funny in fact. What the fuck! Razors are pretty damn useable so.

I've read some interviews with you saying you don't like the old songs anymore. Why is this? Do you still play any of the old songs live?

Can be that we have been playing them like 10000000000000000000 (!) of times. Ha, ha, ha. Mean, we're naturally doing a few old songs. Probably not as many as the audience would like to hear but.

What does Deranged mostly sing about? What are your thoughts on humanity?

Love. Humanity? Pretty boring. Isn't it?

How is the serial killer history in Sweden? Are there any Pedophiles or other true sickos from Sweden?

As any country there's some guys that would be better of dead you know.

Tell me a little bit about your other band Murder Corporation. What's the story on how that started? Do you consider it as a side project or a serious band?

Murder Corp. is a 100% serious band all right!!! It's not a hobby band or project or whatever. We basically just wanted another band to jam with so we started up Murder Corp. As time went by, all of a sudden Deranged and Murder Corp. consisted of the same members which is odd but that´s how it is. Ha, ha, ha. Unfortunately is perhaps not the right word, but we have usually shit lots of things to take care of with Deranged so Murder Corporation are like put to side which is a shame. Anyway, so far this year (2000), it's been released a split 7" single and 2 full length's and we'll also release 2 split CD's along with another full length so there's plenty of Murder Corp. stuff to check out this year.

What kind of merchandise do you sell for both bands and how much?

Right now we have like nothing! There's like 1 or 2 CD's but that´s it. The best way is to write and see what we've got for the moment. We usually have shirts and shit so.

Well Rikard thanx for your time any last comments?

Thanx as hell for the interview. The support is appreciated. Be sure to check "I I I" out and stay brutal and all that!!!
