Wulan Mei Lina is pleased to welcome you to her B/W photograph exhibition and book launching "Indonesian Venus".

The exhibition will take place at the Bonita restaurant in Kerobokan, 2000 X jl Petitenget (in front of Taman Ayu Hotel) from 17th august to 17th september 2007.

Wulan will be delighted to see you there on the opening day, Friday 17th of august, at 6 pm, for the Cocktail Party, show and performance.

A woman photographer in Bali...   

      Established in Bali since 1996, but originating from Surabaya, Wulan Mei Lina has been working as a photographer since a couple of years in this beautiful island of Indonesia.

As a woman, she always says that her preference goes mostly to glamour pictures. To have an idea of where is her very interest in this art, just consider that her all time great photographers are Helmut Newton and Ellen von Unwerth.

Now you can easily guess that her field is mostly sexy pictures, even erotica, with the beautiful women of this country as models. Wulan Mei Lina loves shooting portraits too as this is the shortest way to capture the soul of her models.

All the girls appearing in her work are genuine Indonesian amateurs. This is an important part of her artistic process, particularly in these times of anti-pornography campaign. Women emancipation is one’s of Wulan main concern.

She shoots mostly B/W, sometimes does color prints, even digital on request, but she would reminds anybody that it is not exactly her idea of photography. She has her own shooting studio and dark room at home, making her work more focused. She likes to master everything, from the shooting set to the final printing.
