Fortyniner Bid is a new addition to the family, he will be used as my stud Stallion when he gets older. He is a very pretty boy and shows lots of potential. He will be taken to Western Shows starting this year and be shown in the Halter classes until he is old enough to be broken in. He will be broken in using QS Natural Horsemanship Methods. He will be taken right through all of the levels along with Banjo. He will be open for stud to 3 mares in November 2005. Not sure what stud price will be as of yet. If you are interested in service from Biddy please email and let us know. I will post pictures of him as he grows, and keep up to date on his progress with QS. Feel free to check back any time.
Well Well, didn't I have fun today. Today I did the No yield and Contact yield lessons with biddy. He was great with both. With the No Yield I can swing my stick and string around him everywhere, whirl it above his head and throw it over his body. I also did a No yield with a plastic bag and pillow. He wasn't to sure about the bag but once he checked it out and saw I was relaxed he sighed and relaxed as well. Wow was it great. It feels so good to know your horse trusts you and they relax when they see you relax. He knows if I sigh that everything is ok, so when I introduce something new I let him sniff it and sigh and then he just totally relaxes. He was totally ok with the pillow, I can rub it all over him and wave it around and he doesn't care the slightest. For his first time doing the Contact Yields he was really good. He took to phase four the first time on everything but after he understood what is was I was asking him to do he did the yields on phase 3. Which is pretty good for his first time doing it. I think Biddy is going to turn out to be a great horse, he is already looking at me differently and I have only done the No Yield and Contact Yields with him. So I think that once we complete Level one of the Foundation Program he is going to be a totally different horse. I think he will be the kind of horse that will try to please you all the time, which will be great. I will be taking him to shows either this year or next year, so keep an eye out for him.
