It wasn’t that Kuirani didn’t want to stand and have a chance to impress one of the great dragons of pern it all had caught him of quite off guard. Part of him knew that M’tsu was doing it because he had some ulterior motive, not that Kuirani mind the attention the greenrider paid him, it was simply quite embarrassing. Simply because his brother had been teasing him mercifully since M’tsu had approached S’kosar as a young holder would have for a woman’s hand in marriage. He was not some silly girl to be barttered off! He’d be 17 turns this coming winter, though he thought M’tsu approaching his brother had been very thoughtful on one level at the same time he felt slightly insulted on another.

“Kuirani are you ready?” Kuirani was grateful it was his eldest sister Riza that was on the other side of the door and not his brother. He had no desire to be teased by S'kosar anymore then he had this day. The door creaked open and he could see a smile on her face, “so all ready to go off to Dragon Hope?” He sighed and nodded.

“Oh don’t be so glum Rani you know S’kosar is only giving you a hard time because it bugs him that you’ve grown up so fast,” Riza mock scolded him as she grabbed his bag from his bed and stuck her tongue out at Ryi when he hissed at her. “Oh get over yourself Ryi.” Kuirani couldn’t help but smile at the slightly juvenile act of his sister that could be so serious and such a mother hen at times.

“Well I guess I better get going… I shouldn’t keep the others waiting.” Kuirani said as he snatch his bag from his sister.

“Others? They’ve all left with F’nar, you wouldn’t believe the fit he had when he found out what M’tsu had, done saying he should have asked you first if it was even okay to consult your mother let alone S’kosar. Said the dragons spoke for you long ago and that since you’ve been on the list there was no reason to even speak with mother and S’kosar.” Riza grinned, “F’nar told him he needed to start talking to those he liked personally rather then dragging the whole family into his little mess.“

“Left but then who’s taking me to Dragon Hope?” Kuirani frowned as he pondered what she said. “Please, don’t tell me that S’kosar taking me.” Kuirani couldn’t help but be puzzled when his sister was obviously trying to hold in laughter.

“Oh don’t be such a dim glow Rani, when the whole issue was worked out M’tsu was saddled with taking you to Dragon Hope alone and apologies to you about the whole mess.” Kuirani couldn’t help hold back a moan as he rested a hand on his forehead he was never going to hear the end of this mess was he?
