My Pics with Matt!

I went to the auto show at Charleston back in January 2000 just so I could meet Matt Kenseth and get his autograph. I hadn't really watched him in NASCAR Busch racing but knew that he would be an upcoming rookie in the new NASCAR Winston Cup season. Well, I became a BIG fan FAST!! Just ask anyone! I got in the line at the Civic Center and it took about 30-45 minutes until I got to get his autograph. When I finally got to him, he asked me where I wanted him to sign the picture I had brought with me (which I printed the pic of him from his website). I was almost too nervous to speak! But I did manage a few words out. He was a very polite gentleman to my suprise. I figured that being in contention with Dale Earnhardt Jr. and others might have gave him the "big head" and made him snobbish like I have heard about other race drivers. Well, this was not the case with Matt! My mom took both of the pictures seen here, its a good thing I handed her the camera because my hands were shaking after I got his autograph!

The only thing that I regret is not asking to have my picture taken with Matt where he was sitting at. If I hadn't been so nervous..I would have!!!! Maybe I will get another opportunity in the future!

I have seen Matt go racing this season, at Martinsville Speedway. Although he didn't finish very well because of a crash, he's doing an outstanding job in the rookie battle. Keep up the good finishes Matt!!
