NEWS / ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Migration done October 5, 2009

This will be the last announcement on this geocities homepage.

I have already signed up for a new webhost. The link to my new address is http://tom-cpm.nettai.net, and I will put it on my facebook profile. Note that not all files have been moved yet and some are under construction.

The site here will be taken down in about one or two weeks. Thank you Geocities for all the service and memories.

Date of Homepage Migration July 10, 2009

It has been announced that Geocities will close down on October 26, 2009. My homepage will be migrated to a new web host around mid-October. I will post an announcement about it one or two weeks prior to the migration.

Due to privacy concerns and the growing popularity of social networking sites, I will be using Facebook in place of my homepage to publish most of the information about myself. Thus, in the next update for my homepage, several redundant pages will be removed or modified (by "redundant" I mean anything that I can publish on Facebook). Anything that I cannot set up on Facebook (e.g. a page/application that lists all the courses that I've taken at University) will be set up on my personal homepage. In other words, Facebook is now my primary "online home", with my personal homepage being a supplement.

Please refer to the announcment on January 22, 2009 (three announcements below) for the link to my Facebook profile.

Geocities Closing Down April 24, 2009

Geocities is closing down this year (details are here). For this reason, my website will be moved to another host. I'm currently spending some time researching a new web hosting company, but it will take a while because I am still very busy with my university studies. I will either post the new link for my website on this page (if I can find a new web host before the end of this year) or I will send an email to people who are known to have visited this website.

I've been hosting this website on Geocities for 10 years and I am definitely saddened to see it go. The service is old and can't keep up with the modern days, but it was prominent back in the 90's.

Goodbye Geocities. You will be missed.

Future update April 23, 2009

Due to the increasing number of hackers and data miners out there on the Internet, privacy has become one of my major concerns. Since my homepage contains some personal information about myself, I will have to remove most (if not all) of them.

News and upates about my homepage January 22, 2009

Due to the fact that I'm still extremely busy with my university studies, I will not have time to perform any major updates on my homepage until I graduate and settle down (which should happen close to the end of this year). However, basic updates (e.g. class schedule, profile, contact information, etc.) will still be performed.

Latest news/updates: Updated the following pages: Profile, class schedule, friends, contact info.

More Updates (Finally) Feb 3, 2008

There have been several updates since the last time I posted in this News page. My newest picture has been uploaded to my profile page (it's only showing half of my face, but I consider it a new style). My philosophy page has also been slightly re-structured, and I will be adding some more essays within this year.

In any case, keep checking back because my page, as mentioned above, is constantly updated (even though I might not post any news / announcements about it).

Happy New Year / Several Updates and Maintenances Jan 15, 2007

Happy new year everyone! This school year has been quite hectic for me so I have very little time to maintain my website. I've discovered that yahoo photos have changed the way they store the photos and I can no longer hot-link to them from my galleries page (hot-linking pictures from my own album at yahoo photos is the way I implemented my galleries page). So, for the time being, use the alternative address until I have found a way to get around the problem.

Several other updates: Thanks to the comments from some friends and my own reviews, I've decided to improve the appearance (e.g. design) of several webpages. Keep checking if you're interested.

Again, it might be a while before my homepage gets updated again.

Wish you all a happy and successful year 2007!

Compatibility Issue with Firefox Resolved June 3, 2006

All the pages that used to have compatibility issues with Firefox have now been fixed.

You should now be able to browse the pictures with both IE and Firefox in my Personal Galleries page.

New Year Greetings Jan 1, 2006

Happy new year 2006 everyone! Hope you all had a great year in 2005. There will be several updates on my webpage. My profile page will change (I'll take a new picture after my birthday), and I'm working to modify the structure of the galleries page for greater photo viewing experience.

Sample Course Evaluations Forms Added Dec 9, 2005

For those who are interested in getting advice and information about U of T (University of Toronto - St.George) and universities in general, look for "Information and Advice for University" under the menu Academic Success. For those of you who have already read the page, I've updated the section "Profs" with new information. This new information talks about hints on completing course evaluations effectively, and those hints contain a Links to sample course evaluation forms.
