Strategies in Test Taking
-
Get as much information about the test in advance as possible,
that way you can have a better idea of what you can expect. By collecting
these information, it will help you prepare for the test easily.
-
Write a sample test if possible.
-
Before taking the test, quickly review the number of pages. Figure out
approximately how much time you will need to complete each page as well
as how much time you will need for checking. Spend no more than
30 seconds in this process as it counts as part of your test time.
-
Always bring a watch with you for the test. You need to keep track
of the time as you go along.
-
Do not spend too much time on one question, especially questions that do not
worth a lot of marks. You will end up not being able to finish the more
important questions.
-
Write as fast as possible. This is very important! You will have to
write a hell a lot faster if a question takes you significant amount of time
to think.
-
Work on questions that are more important (ie. worth a lot of marks) first.
They deserve more attention.
-
Do not write any BS at all. Not only does it wastes your time, but also you
will risk mark deduction for the question.
