Victoria Day Camp at Guelph Biblical Conference Centre (May 2006):
I returned to Daniel Fellowship through the Victoria Day Camp after nearly 6 months of absence.
As I always wish to join a camp every summer, I gladly accepted Alan's invitation to the Victoria
Day Camp. The campsite was located at Guelph which was only about an hour drive from Toronto.
This year, the camp was run differently from previous years: We lived in dorms instead of tents;
we had our group activities, sermons, singspirations inside a building (i.e. the Conference Centre) and we
enjoyed a wide range of facilities inside the Centre. In terms of the environment, it was by
far the best among all the Victoria Day Camps I've joined with Daniel Fellowship. The dorms were excellent (and we
had more than enough beds)
but ironally I had a very hard time sleeping there at night because of the irritating snores from a certain camper,
which was exactly the reason why I was dead tired for most of the time in the camp. Somehow I was able to
switch to another dorm the next night and got some sleep. It was very disappointing that my fatigue prevented
me from enjoying all the activities to the fullest.
Similar to the summer camp at Barklake last year, I was somewhat unenthusiastic in certain programs and was
greatly unimpressed with the unfriendliness of certain campers. I managed to successfully approach a few
friendly individuals there and we definitely had a great time chatting, playing table-tennis and many other
games in the camp. I wish to keep in contact with some people but we never actually signed any autographs at the end (wtf)!
Despite the ups and downs I experienced in the camp, I thank the committee members for their hard work. The
only thing that I didn't quite appreciate were the crappy meals that they organized (every meal, except possibily the two
lunches, were extremely poor in quantity and quality). Overall, I enjoyed the camp because of all the positive moments that
I've mentioned above. The facilities and the programs, in general, were very good.
To get a brief picture of the camp facilities and the kind of events that we had, just click
on the album to view the photos. Approximately 10% of the photos there were taken from the
official cameramen in Daniel; approximately 90% were contributed by me (thanks Simon for
lending me his camera); approximately 30% of the photos are the ones with campers, and the rest
are pure landscape (i.e. no people).

Summer Camp at Barklake (Aug 2005):
I was invited by a friend to join his fellowship's summer camp at Barklake, which is located in the city of
Haliburton (Northeast of Toronto). This event is like a mixture of a wildcamp and a retreat. We had activities
such as rope climbing, canoeing, hiking, etc. (typical of a wildcamp); we lived in a room that resembles a motel,
all the singspiration, workshops, group games, etc. were taken place in a comfortable meeting room, and we had
all our meals at a cafeteria (all typical of a retreat).
Although I was somewhat unenthuiastic in certain activities
and was unimpressed with the attitudes with some of the campers, I, overall, found the camp excellent because I
enjoyed most of the activities (especially workshops) and actually met a few friendly and mature people there.
Good job committee members! This camp, along with the camps I've been to for the past 4 consecutive years of summer,
make up my memorable years of 2000-2005. A retreat (or a wildcamp mixed with retreat) is considered the "essence"
of every summer of my life.
P.S. Organized group games suck!

Farewell Dinner with Seran (Aug 2005):
Seran was leaving Toronto to study in Philadelphia. I, along with Alan, Simon and
Fred, had a farewell dinner with her @ a Japanese restaurant. They (i.e. excluding me)
later took pictures at what I believed to be outside of First Markham Threatre. Note that
I wasn't in any of the pictures. I had to rush home immediately after dinner because I
was feeling extremely ill in my stomach. Special thanks to Simon who sent me the pictures.
