Handicap Tag Team Table Match
The Dudley Boyz vs. Rob Conway and La Resistance (c)
Lilian Garcia introduced the opening contest as a
Handicap Tag Team Table Match for the World Tag Team Titles. Earlier tonight,
Eric Bischoff turned this six man tag team table match into a Handicap Match
due to the fact that Spike Dudley is unable to participate tonight due to
injuries and at the same time, Stone Cold Steve Austin turned around and made
this a match for the Tag Team Titles! The rules of this match are simple; the
winning team must put all of their opponents through tables to end the match
and should the Dudley Boyz win, they'll be the new
Tag Team Champions!
The start:
Rene Dupree started the match off in the ring against D-Von Dudley and the two
exchanged right hands and then Rene whipped D-Von into the corner and he went
after D-Von but D-Von nailed him with a reverse elbow and then he pulled Rene
down to the mat with a modified bulldog.
Mid-match notes:
The Dudley Boyz gave Rene Dupree a double team flap
jack and then they hinted that they'd be going for the tables, but they didn't.
That encouraged the fans to start chanting "We want tables" as Sylvan
Grenier and Rene Dupree regained control of the
match.
Bubba Ray gave Rene Dupree a body slam and then he held onto his legs, giving
D-Von the opportunity to come off the top rope with a headbutt
to the groin. Bubba then told D-Von to get the tables and he got out of the
ring and grabbed a table as the fans chanted "tables, tables!" Bubba
and D-Von set up the table in the ring and La Resistance attacked both the Dudleys from behind and then La Resistance brought more
tables into the ring and they set one up in the corner and whipped D-Von hard
into it, sending him crashing through the table to eliminate him from the
match.
Sylvan Grenier went to suplex
Bubba Ray through the table but Bubba countered it with a suplex
of his own to send Sylvan through the table to eliminate him.
Rob Conway and Rene Dupree went to put Bubba through the table but D-Von got in
the ring and pulled the table out of the way.
With two tables set up at ringside, Bubba and D-Von lifted Rob Conway up and
tossed him through the table on the outside. Sylvan Grenier
then got in the ring with the French Flag and went to hit the
The finish:
The Dudley Boyz gave Rene Dupree the 3D through the
table to win the match and the Tag Team Titles!
Winners and new Tag Team Champions, the Dudley Boyz
The Aftermath:
Bubba Ray and D-Von celebrated their title win in the ring and you gotta believe that wherever Spike Dudley is right now, he's
extremely pleased with his brother's title win!
Test vs. Scott Steiner
Stacy Keibler's music hit in the arena and she made
her way out to the ring and the next contest is scheduled for one fall with
Test against Scott Steiner and once again, we're seeing a "Winner gets
Stacy" match, but this time, if Test wins the match, not only will he
retain the services of Stacy Keibler but he'll also
gain the services of Scott Steiner... whatever that means.
The start:
Test went to the corner and yelled at Stacy and after he finished yelling,
Stacy walked over to Scott Steiner and gave him a hug and then Steiner held the
ropes for her to get out of the ring. As Steiner held the ropes, Test attacked
Scott Steiner, giving him a right hand to knock him down to the mat and then
Test stomped away on Steiner and as he did that, he asked Stacy what she thinks
of Steiner now?
Mid-match notes:
Test went for the pump handle slam but Steiner powered out of it and then
Steiner gave Test a double arm under hook into a power bomb and then he pinned
him for a two count.
Scott Steiner grabbed Test from behind and with the referee tied up in the
ropes, Test gave Steiner a low blow and then he pinned Steiner, putting his
feet on the ropes and Stacy pushed Test's feet off the ropes. Test then went
after Stacy but Steiner planted him with a reverse DDT
and then pinned him for a two count.
Test then planted Scott Steiner with the pump handle slam and then he set up
for the big boot but was distracted by Stacy Keibler
on the ring apron, showing her ass. Scott Steiner then rolled Test up from
behind in a pin for another two count.
Test then went after Stacy Keibler, chasing her into
the ring and she bumped into Scott Steiner and fell down to the mat and as
Scott Steiner's attention was drawn to Stacy, Test nailed Steiner with the big
boot and then he pinned him for a two count.
Test then got up and went to the corner and pulled the turnbuckle off and
handed it to the referee. As the referee went to put the turnbuckle back on,
Test brought a chair into the ring and then Stacy grabbed the chair and went to
hit Test but Test ducked and she laid out Steiner. Test then gave Scott Steiner
the big boot and then the pin for the three count to
get the win!
Winner - Test
The Aftermath:
Test held up Stacy Keibler's arm and she bowed her
head in shame and then Test gave Stacy an aggressive kiss.
Randy Orton vs. Shawn Michaels
Randy Orton's music hit in the arena and he made his way out to the ring
accompanied by Ric Flair for his one on one match
against Shawn Michaels in what has been deemed a Legend vs. Legend Killer match
as Randy Orton is the self proclaimed legend killer.
The start:
Shawn Michaels and Randy Orton locked it up in the center
of the ring and Shawn went behind Orton and took him down with a waist lock
take down and as Orton tried to get out from under Michaels, Michaels rode him
around the ring and then slapped him around in an attempt to anger him.
Mid-match notes:
Shawn Michaels tossed Randy Orton to the outside of the ring but in a Shawn
Michaels moment, Randy Orton held onto the ropes and did what we like to call
"skin the cat." When Orton pulled himself back into the ring, he
knocked Michaels down with a drop kick.
With Randy Orton on the outside of the ring, Shawn Michaels went to the top
rope and jumped at Randy Orton with a cross body and connected with it,
knocking Orton down to the arena floor. The referee started the count on Orton
as Michaels rolled back into the ring and Flair went over to Orton and the
referee stopped the count to yell at Flair.
Randy Orton was in the corner and Shawn charged at him with a shoulder block
but Orton moved and Shawn went sailing into the ring post and then he fell to
the outside of the ring where Ric Flair picked him up
and rammed him into the ring post shoulder first. Randy then got out of the
ring and picked Shawn Michaels up and drove him into the ring post like a dart.
Shawn Michaels whipped Orton off the ropes and then he ducked down for a back
body drop but Orton stopped short and grabbed Michaels by the arm and gave him
an arm breaker to continue to work on the arm and shoulder of the Heartbreak
Kid.
Shawn Michaels was dominating Randy Orton and Ric
Flair hopped to the ring apron and Shawn Michaels went over and knocked Flair
down with a hard right hand. Shawn then knocked Randy Orton to the outside of
the ring and then he jumped on him from the ring apron and continued to go to
work on him.
Randy Orton climbed the ropes and came off at Michaels but Michaels moved.
Michaels then went for the super kick but Randy Orton blocked it and then hit
Michaels with the RKO. Randy Orton then rolled over
and pinned Shawn Michaels but Michaels was somehow able to kick out at the
count of two.
Randy Orton then went to the top rope for a high cross body but Shawn Michaels
ducked under, sending Orton crashing down to the mat. Michaels then rolled to
the ring apron and climbed to the top rope and Ric
Flair went after Michaels as he climbed up but Michaels knocked him down from
the apron with a hard right hand. Michaels then went to the top rope and came
off with a flying elbow drop on Randy Orton. Michaels then rolled over and
pinned Orton but only got a two count.
Shawn Michaels then nipped up to his feet and then he got pumped up and went to
the corner and got ready for the super kick and Randy Orton got to his feet and
then Shawn laid him out with the super kick. Shawn then pinned Randy Orton for
the three count and just after the three count, Flair
put Orton's foot on the rope and the referee noticed the foot on the rope so he
resumed the match. Ric Flair then gave Randy Orton
some brass knuckles and then Shawn Michaels gave Ric
Flair a super kick to knock him down and out.
The finish:
Shawn Michaels went to give Randy Orton a back drop but Randy Orton gave Shawn
Michaels a number of right hands to the head with the brass knuckles and then
he pinned him for the three count to get the win.
Winner - Randy Orton
The Aftermath:
Backstage:
La Resistance and Rob Conway were shown backstage with towels on their heads
and Chris Jericho showed up and said that they've been through a war, they're a
mess. Chris then said that this isn't their fault; it's Stone Cold's fault
because they didn't know they had a title defense.
Chris said that
Gail Kim and Molly Holly vs. Trish
Stratus and Lita
Gail Kim's music hit in the arena and she made her way out to the ring for a
tag team match with Molly Holly against Trish Stratus and the returning Lita. This past Monday night, Lita
made her return to the WWE by making the save for
Trish Stratus, who was getting beat down by Gail Kim and Molly Holly. From
there, a match was made for tonight with Lita teaming
up with Trish Stratus against Gail Kim and Molly Holly.
The start:
As Lita and Trish were doing their intro poses, Molly
and Gail attacked them both and Gail disposed of Trish and then she went after Lita but Lita decked her with a
hard right hand to send her down to the mat.
Mid-match notes:
Trish Stratus ducked down to the mat and Lita jumped
off her back, squashing Gail and Molly in the corner with a clothesline, shades
of the old Hardy Boyz double team move.
Gail Kim had Trish Stratus in a dragon sleeper and Trish worked her way to the
corner and then she climbed the ropes and flipped over to give Gail a reverse
DDT to break the hold. Trish then crawled over in an attempt to make the tag
but Molly snuck over to Lita's corner and pulled her
down from the ring apron to cost Trish the tag. As a result, Lita's mouth was busted opened after hitting the ring
apron.
Lita planted Gail with a power bomb and as she stood
over Gail, Molly gave Lita a shot to the neck from
behind. Molly then went to the top rope for the Molly Go Round but Trish pulled
her down with a head scissors.
The finish:
Lita gave Molly Holly a reverse twist of fate and
then she went to the top rope and came off with the moonsault
and a pin for a three count to pick up the win! Lita
slipped out here and the bare photos can be found by clicking the link below.
Winners - Trish Stratus and Lita
Last Man
Standing Match
Kane vs. Shane McMahon
Lilian Garcia introduced the next match as a Last Man
Standing Match where there are no disqualifications, count outs and to win this
match, you have to decimate your opponent to the point where he's unable to get
to his feet at the referee's count of ten.
The start:
As Kane was being introduced, Shane McMahon came out with a steel chair and he
whaled away on the back of Kane and then the two got in the ring and Shane
quickly got out of the ring. When Kane went after him, Shane nailed Kane in the
head with the chair and then he hit him in the head once again with the chair
to knock him down to the mat. The referee then started the count, but that
wasn't enough to end the match. It should be noted that Kane is wearing new
tights, no longer featuring the top. (Now he doesn't look as stupid as he did
before.)
Mid-match notes:
Kane grabbed the steel steps and nailed Shane McMahon right in the head with
them and as the announcer's wrote Shane McMahon out of the match,
Shane was somehow able to get back to his feet.
Back in the ring, Kane grabbed Shane by the throat and planted him with a
vicious choke slam and then Kane told the referee to make the count. Shane McMahon
used the referee to get back to his feet and then he shoved the referee into
Kane and Kane knocked the referee down with a big boot.
Kane then picked Shane up for the tombstone but decided against it. After
saying something to Shane about his mom, Kane got out of the ring and grabbed
the steel steps and brought them into the ring. Kane went for the tombstone on
Shane on the steps but Shane got out of it and gave Kane a bulldog onto the
steel steps. Shane then gave the steps a baseball slide, kicking them into the
head of Kane.
Shane put the steps on Kane in the corner and then he kicked them a couple
times and then he went to the other corner and jumped off the top rope, kicking
the steel steps right into Kane's face! The fans chanted "Holy shit, holy
shit" and Shane looked to have hit his head on the mat on the way down.
Unfortunately for Shane, the referee was still down and out, buying Kane some
time.
Kane pushed the steel steps into Shane McMahon and they landed on his head and
the referee started the count with both men down. Kane got to his feet but
Shane also got to his feet. A frustrated Kane grabbed Shane and tossed him over
the top rope to the outside of the ring.
Kane launched Shane McMahon into the Unforgiven
set, sending him crashing down to the ground and the referee started the count.
When Shane got back up, Kane picked Shane up once again, slamming him into the Unforgiven set, which isn't too
forgiving.
Kane and Shane McMahon battled over to the Spanish announce table and with Shane
on the ground, Kane rolled the announcer's table onto Shane McMahon, or so he
thought. Kane laughed and went down to look for Shane but Shane wasn't under
the table. Shane then attacked Kane from behind and then he hit Kane in the
head several times with a metal sheet. Shane then knocked Kane down with the
boom camera by ramming it into his throat and the referee started the count but
Kane was able to get up.
Kane and Shane then fought onto the platform and Kane went for a choke slam on
Shane but Shane countered it with a low blow and then he gave Kane a DDT on the platform.
The finish:
Shane McMahon knocked Kane down and then he climbed up the Unforgiven
set (very high) and jumped down at Kane but Kane rolled out of the way and
Shane went crashing through the platform. The referee then started the count
with both men on the ground and Kane was able to get up but Shane was left
motionless. The referee got to the count of ten, giving the win to the Big Red
Machine, Kane.
Winner - Kane
The Aftermath:
EMTs came out to attend to Shane McMahon and they put
a neck brace on him and then put him on a stretcher and took him out of the
arena.
Backstage:
Stone Cold was shown looking on from the backstage area and Chris Jericho
showed up. Chris asked Stone Cold if he remembers what he said to Kane? Austin told Kane that he wants to see a monster and
what did he get? A monster and another life ruined. Austin is happy and La
Resistance is 'happy' that Austin screwed them out of the titles, huh? Austin
stood up and told Chris Jericho that if he's got a problem with him to take his
best shot. Jericho said that he does have a problem but he's not going to make
it that easy for Austin. He's going to get inside his brain and make him crack.
Chris is going to make it as difficult for Austin as he is for everyone else.
Chris then told Austin to keep watching because he's going to win the
Intercontinental Title and just remember, there's more
than one way to make him crack.
Intercontinental Championship Match
Triple Threat Match
Chris Jericho vs. Rob Van Dam vs.
Christian (c)
Christian's music hit in the arena and he made his way out to the ring as the
Intercontinental Champion and this is a Triple Threat Match with Christian
defending the title in a Triple Threat Match against Chris Jericho and Rob Van
Dam!
The start:
Christian taunted Rob Van Dam with the Intercontinental Title and Rob Van Dam
hit Christian and then Jericho and Christian double teamed RVD
with a number of right hands to knock him down to the mat.
Mid-match notes:
During the match, Jerry Lawler gave us an update on Shane McMahon and he has
been taken to the hospital and there is serious concern about his neck.
Rob Van Dam went for a hurricanrana on Chris Jericho
but Chris Jericho countered it into the Walls of Jericho and the referee was
there to check on RVD to see if he wanted to tap out
but RVD refused to tap. RVD
crawled in an attempt to reach the ropes but Jericho pulled RVD
back to the center of the ring and Christian eventually
got in the ring and broke the Walls of Jericho. Christian then pinned Rob Van
Dam but only got a two count.
Chris Jericho and Christian then brawled, fighting to the outside of the ring,
exchanging right hands and chops. Chris Jericho whipped Christian into the
steel steps, knees first and Christian flipped over the steps landing on his
back on the hard mats.
Chris Jericho kicked Rob Van Dam in the chest and then he went off the ropes
and gave him a bulldog and then he went for the lionsault
but RVD moved and Chris saw him moving so he landed
on his feet but Chris looked to have jarred his knee. RVD
then knocked Chris Jericho down to the mat and then he hit him with a moonsault and a pin for a two count as Christian came off
the top rope with an elbow drop but RVD saw it soon
enough to move out of the way. Christian landed on Jericho with a vicious elbow
drop.
Rob Van Dam gave Christian a drop toe hold and Christian landed on Chris
Jericho in the 69 position and then RVD went to the
top rope and jumped off with the five star frog splash
on both men. RVD was unable to make the pin to win
the match.
Rob Van Dam attempted to lift Chris Jericho up on his back on the top rope and
Christian went over and hit RVD and grabbed RVD in a power bomb as RVD pulled
Chris Jericho down to the mat with an electric chair and the fans went
absolutely nuts after that amazing display, chanting "Holy shit, holy
shit." Christian then pinned RVD but only got a
two count.
Christian got in the ring with the IC Title and went to hit RVD
with it but RVD grabbed him by the legs and
catapulted him into Chris Jericho. RVD then rolled
Christian up for a two count.
RVD knocked Christian down with a spin kick and then
he went to the top rope for the frog splash and Jericho came up on the ring
apron with a steel chair and then RVD kicked that
chair into Jericho's face.
The finish:
RVD then came off the top rope with the frog splash
but Christian got his knees and the Championship belt up into RVD's gut. Christian then pinned Rob Van Dam for the three count to retain the title.
Winner and still Intercontinental Champion, Christian
Backstage:
Marc Loyd caught up with Triple H and he said that a
lot of people are behind Goldberg. What are his thoughts going into one of the
biggest nights of his career? Triple H said that he's got a story; it begins
like all fables do. Once upon a time, there was a great land and a great
knight, so great and so powerful that he destroyed everyone and everything that
laid in his path. One day that night, he fell asleep
and he was in the real world. You know what happened to him? He got his ass
kicked. Triple H doesn't believe in fairytales. What he believes in is the most
proven commodity in this business, himself. What he believes in is the greatest
wrestler alive today, himself. And what he believes in is the World Heavyweight
Championship. It is what Triple H is about and he will put his life on the line
to keep it. Tonight, he ends Bill Goldberg's storybook career! Triple H doesn't
believe in fairytales, he doesn't believe the hype and it's time for Goldberg
to play the game.
Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross vs. Al Snow
and Jonathan Coachman
Jonathan Coachman's music hit in the arena and he made his way out to the ring
along with Al Snow and the winners of this match will be the RAW announcers
starting tomorrow night. And their opponents, Jim Ross and Jerry "The
King" Lawler! Before they got up to go to the ring, Jerry Lawler asked the
question; 'Who's going to do the commentary during this match?' Jim Ross had no
idea because that's an executive producer call.
The start:
As Al Snow and Coach were talking in the corner, Jerry Lawler charged over and
knocked Al Snow down and rolled him up in a pin for a two count. Lawler rolled
Snow up again and got another two count.
Mid-match notes:
Al Snow went for a back body drop but Jerry Lawler stopped short, grabbed him
and planted him with a piledriver. Jerry Lawler then
pinned Al Snow but only got a two count as Al got his foot on the rope.
The Coach got Jerry Lawler down in the corner and then he did a crotch chop and
went for the bronco buster ala X-Pac but Lawler moved out of the way.
During the match, the fans started chanting "We want tables." - Wrong
match guys, though they could have been chanting "We want JR."
Jim Ross was tagged into the match and he gave Al Snow a low blow and then a
clothesline to the outside of the ring. Ross then got Coach down on the mat and
hammered away on him. Folks, Jim Ross may be considered one of the greatest
wrestling announcers of our time, but in the ring, he's a poor soul.
The finish:
As JR dominated Coach, Chris Jericho came out to the ring and gave Jim Ross a
drop kick to the head and then rolled Coach over onto Jim Ross to pin him for
the three count.
Winners - The Coach and Al Snow
The Aftermath:
Marc Loyd caught up with Chris Jericho and asked him
why he did this? Chris said that there's more than one way to crack Stone Cold
and he chipped away at
In the arena:
Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler talked about their loss to Al
Snow and Coach, selling it as if it's their last match together and that their
careers are over.
World Heavyweight Championship Match
Goldberg vs. Triple H (c)
The next contest is scheduled for one fall and is for the World Heavyweight
Championship. The rules of this match are simple; Triple H can lose the belt on
a pinfall, submission, count out or disqualification
and if Goldberg doesn't win this match, he has to leave the WWE
and retire from the wrestling business.
Introducing first, from
The start:
The referee went over the stipulations and wished them both luck. Triple H and
Goldberg then stared each other down and Triple H took a few steps back and
Goldberg did some bouncing on the ropes as the fans heavily chanted
"Goldberg, Goldberg!" Triple H and Goldberg then locked it up in the center of the ring and Triple H shoved Goldberg back but he
didn't go very far. The two locked it up once again and Triple H backed
Goldberg into the corner but Goldberg reversed him and then the referee called
for a break as they were in the ropes.
Mid-match notes:
Goldberg pressed Triple H over his head and then he slammed him down to the
mat. Triple H then rolled out of the ring, feeling the pain in his back after
hitting the mat. The referee then started the count on Triple H as he was on
the outside of the ring and remember, if Triple H gets
counted out of the ring, he loses the World Heavyweight Title to Goldberg.
Goldberg slammed Triple H in a double arm under hook suplex
and then he went to the corner and set up for the spear and he went for it but
Triple H countered it with a high knee to the head to knock him down to the
mat.
Triple H put Goldberg in a figure four leg lock and you could hear the fans
yell "Wooooo" throughout the arena as this
is a maneuver out of the book of the great Ric Flair. As the referee checked on
Goldberg, Triple H held onto the ropes for leverage to further damage the legs
of Goldberg. Goldberg eventually turned the figure four over and Triple
H immediately released the hold to avoid the pain.
Triple H gave Goldberg a knee drop and then he went for another one but
Goldberg blocked it and gave Triple H a stiff kick and then a clothesline to
knock him down to the mat.
(Ref bump) Triple H went for the Pedigree but Goldberg gave him a back body
drop to the outside of the ring. With the referee down on the mat, Triple H
pulled a sledgehammer out from under the ring and nailed Goldberg in the jaw
with it to knock him down and out. Triple H then got in the ring with the
sledgehammer but Goldberg somehow got up and speared Triple H down to the mat
and then shoved the hammer out of the ring.
The finish:
Goldberg hooked Triple H in a suplex position and
then he gave him the jackhammer to pin him for the three count
and win the World Heavyweight Title!
Winner and new World Heavyweight Champion, Goldberg
The Aftermath:
The fans chanted "Goldberg, Goldberg!" as Goldberg grabbed the World
Heavyweight Title and celebrated his title win as the pay per view went off the
air!
