Dr. Death Return, Funk vs. Lawler, WWF Debuts, APA Displeased, HHH Return

    - Dr. Death Steve Williams is currently in talks with Rob Black's XPW promotion. If a contract deal doesn't come to terms with XPW, Hulk Hogan's new promotion will certainly be an option. Ric Flair, Randy Savage, Kid Kash, Ric Steiner, Lex Luger, Sting, Kevin Nash have been rumored to join the new promotion, if not taken up by the WWF. The wrestlers who have not been signed by the WWF as in ECW/WCW leftovers, may be signed with the new promotion also.

    - A Terry Funk vs Jerry Lawler match is in the booking for an August 18 Jersey All Pro Wrestling show at the former ECW Arena. The one thing stopping the booking of the match is Terry Funks $2500 asking price, which is very high considering he his a retired wrestler. The moves he does will be limited due to his age, but Funk according to sources has the ability to get over with the crowd but with lawler as his opponent that may be hard, considering Lawler has had a constant rule in wrestling as of late, as Funk has been out for quite some time.

    - The feeling within the WWF right now is that since so many new characters have been introduced yet haven't gotten individual identities, this is the worst time to debut a newcomer. After the invasion angle starts to die out, and new angles start coming into play that don't involve as much WWF vs. WCW/ECW action, expect to see more new debuts and young stars come into play.

    - It is being rumored that the Acolytes, along with many other mid-card wrestlers, were displeased with the WCW/ECW invasion angle and the fact that their TV time was being given to others. It is believed that the Acolytes were given the tag belts to keep them satisfied. WWF management insists that he Acolytes got the belts only because they had to take them away from the Dudley Boys, who were involved in the main event.

    - The word seems to be that when Triple H returns, an angle will start up between he and Steve Austin. The Rock vs. Austin angle should last a while until then, but nothing is for sure right now. When Austin returned from his neck injury, he did not have the drawing power as expected, although his first PPV appearances drew huge ratings. But, with The Rock and Triple H and Austin in the scene, ratings are expected to be good.
