WcW Price Revealed, David Flair, Regal, Kurt Angle

    - WWFE revealed, in their annual report with the SEC on 7/27, how much they paid for WCW. Here is the paragraph, from the report, giving details on the purchase:

"In March 2001, we acquired substantially all of the intellectual properties and certain other assets of World Championship Wrestling(R) (the "WCW(R)"), including the trade name, tape library and other intangible assets from a subsidiary of AOL Time Warner for $2.5 million. In addition, we incurred certain related costs to acquire these assets of approximately $1.8 million."

That is a very low figure, and Eric Bischoff's Fusient group were reportedly willing to pay 10 times that ammount.

    - Former WCW Star, David Flair, son of wrestling legend Ric Flair, recently joined the ranks of Ohio Valley Wrestling while under a developmental contract with the World Wrestling Federation.

Fans will recognize Flair from his recent stint in World Championship Wrestling, before it was purchased by the World Wrestling Federation.

Flair will be training at the Danny Davis School of Wrestling and will perform at many OVW events. He made his wrestling debut for OVW on Friday night at OVW's first Kentucky Kingdom show when he took on WWF star Dean Malenko.

    - The WWF has decided to keep Regal backstage instead of being a commentator, because they feel his backstage vignettes with Tajiri are priceless. Regal could fill in a few times for Michael Cole, but will not be taking over full time.

    - Kurt Angle is said to be very happy with his current status in the WWF. Angle is very comfortable in the ring with Booker T, and is very excited about being the current WCW champ. Speaking of Angle, rumors that he is injured are false, he is healthy and ready to defend his title tomorrow on RAW.
