Austin, InVasion Numbers, §lam Main Event, Kane/Theme, & More

    - Steve Austin is tentatively scheduled to make his in-ring return at the house show on August 5 in San Diego which incidentally is the same day that the Rock returns to competition.

    - Invasion ended up officially drawing 17,019 with 15,535 of those being paid seats. The gate was $848,060 and the merchandise sales came in at $146,152.

    - There also appears to be the feeling that the WWF is not going with the Austin vs. Rock match at Summerslam but instead will do a title vs. title gimmick involving Stone Cold and Kurt Angle. The train of thought is that Rock's appearance at Summerslam will in itself do well for buyrates and so Austin/Rock singles match could be saved for a later date. This is far being confirmed though.

    - Kane will be getting new entrance music in the near future, as Type O Negative revealed that they have finished recording "Out of the Fire", a revised version of Kane's entrance music, for inclusion on the next WWF CD, which is due out in October.

    - Scott Hall has been rumored to be having talks with MECW about a return, but as of this time he is still touring with New Japan. Several people still speculate that later this year both Hall and Nash could return to the WWF, but an agreement would have to be reached with Nash first as he is content sitting out the rest of his AOL/Time Warner contract. Scott Hall, though, is under no contract whatsoever and is free for the taking. The WWF is apparently content as of right now with it's current WCW roster, but may look to spice things up later this year with a few "Big" names from WCW.

    - Buff Bagwell is expected to face Curt Hening for the MECW Title and Sandman is expected to take on Sabu as well at the ECW Arena show. Also, Buff Bagwell and Terry Taylor have yet to sign contracts with MECW. It is rumored that MECW are in talks with several networks about broadcasting their shows, much the way ECW got started out in local markets such as the sunshine network.
