- When Booker T defeated Scott Steiner on the final broadcast of Monday Nitro, the glitter of Booker's newly won WCW Championship cast a shadow on the United States Championship he already wore.
The U.S. Championship, held by Booker T since his March triumph over Rick Steiner, helped elevate Booker into a position to win the most coveted WCW title.

- Billy Kidman injured his knee Saturday at a World Wrestling Federation live event in Syracuse, N.Y. Kidman continued to wrestle for the next few days, thinking the injury was not that bad. However, after his match with X-Pac Monday on RAW IS WAR, he experienced inflammation. Kidman will be visiting a doctor on Thursday. As a precaution, he's been taken off live events until SummerSlam on Aug. 19. WCW.com will pass on any updated information as we receive it.
- The World Wrestling Federation sends its sympathies to the family of Rhonda Singh, better known to Federation fans as Bertha Faye. Singh -- a former Federation Women's Champion -- passed away earlier this week at the age of 40.
