RAW - 7/30/01 - Philadelphia, PA - First Union Center

Show starts with flashback to Vince reinstating Rock. Tazz to the ring with Paul E. and Tommy Dreamer. Tazz in the ring and Paul and Tommy to the announce table. Tazz says to Mr. Dreamer to please escort Mr. Cole to the backstage area. He knocks off his headset and takes him back. Tazz asks Mr. Heyman per Stephanie's request that his chair is vacant. Paul sits down and tells Tazz to let the bodies to hit the floor. Asshole chant for Tazz and Paul. Tazz says tonight will be an historic night for the Alliance. Says not just 1 but 2 things are gonna happen tonight right here live on Raw. #1 - Booker T will yank that WCW title from everybody's hero, Kurt Angle. And Booker will bring the WCW title back to the Alliance. #2 - (Rocky chant goes up), The most electrifying man in sports entertainment today, The Rock, will come join the Alliance. Crowd booes. Tazz says he personally guarantees it. CHRIS JERICHO COMES OUT!!! Jericho says that he's sure that Tazz is absolutely excited to hear the voice of the Alliance but he is sick and tired of hearing Tazz's voice. So he tells Tazz would you please SHUT THE HELL UP!! And he knows that Tazz has a big head because he's a star on Tough Enough. But Y2J thinks that he's better suited for another series, Jackass! And tonight Jericho is gonna kick the living hell out of Tazz's. Jericho charges the ring and clothesline on Tazz. Tazz back with one of his own. Whip on Tazz and the Bulldog misses. Tazzmission on Jericho but a low blow breaks the hold. Bulldog and LIONSAULT on Tazz for the win!!!!

Backstage signs for Welcome Back Rock with Vince. Regal comes in with Tajiri. Vince says this will be a great night because Rock returns to the WWF. He's decorating Rock's dressing room. He asks Regal's opinion of the decorations. Vince says things are going so well with Angle WCW champ and how Tajiri will win back the Hardcore title tonight in a few minutes. Tajiri has a gift for Vince. Regal says since Rock always talked about how he liked pie, he brought a bunch of them for Rock. Vince says that's a good thought but Rock likes a different kind of pie. And it seems as though the blueberry is missing a slice. They look at Tajiri and he gives the People's Eyebrow. He has blueberry in his mouth. Regal sends him out for his match. Vince says that pie and hardcore titles don't go together. Regal says his mother used to say the same thing over pints of Guiness.

Rob Van Dam v Tajiri for Hardcore Title. RVD and Tajiri put on a small exhibition of moves. Tajiri with side headlock and cartwheel over RVD misses elbow. RVD misses rolling thunder. They both miss spinning kicks. RVD hot dogs pointing to himself and Tajiri hits him with a boot to the jaw. RVD back to take Tajiri's legs out and drapes him on the apron. Guillotine legdrop on the outside by RVD. RVD gets a chair and when he comes on the apron, Tajiri with a handspring into the chair and drives RVD to the floor. Tajiri covers outside for 2. Back in the ring, Whip on RVD but Tajiri gets a boot to the face. Van Dam up on the ropes and gets crotched. Tajiri puts him in the Tree of Woe and places 2 chairs on the face of RVD. Baseball slide into the chairs for 2. Chops by Tajiri. Handspring gets reversed into a waistlock and another reversal into a bridge for 2 by Tajiri. RVD blocks the suplex try. Tajiri with a takedown and has a hammerlock and neck grip on Rob. Tajiri on Van Dam's back. Rob rolls on him and off the ropes with a Moonsault for 2. Again on the top ropes with the steel chair on Tajiri, 5 STAR FROG SPLASH CONNECTS for the win!!! Backstage Shane, Steph and Austin talking about welcoming Rock to the Alliance. Steve says he got 6 bottles of champagne and Debra comes in with her cookies. She offers to the others but they decline. Booker comes in and they tell him not to worry about the Rock. Patrick comes in and says Rock's on his way. Austin tells him to worry about Angle and not the spineroonie. He takes one of Debra's cookies and Booker has a hard time swallowing it. Austin talks to him again about winning the match no matter what.

Vince in the back on his way to meet the Rock. Show stops him and says he has a few things to run past him. Says he's a marketing genius about his new shirt and the new name for him and Billy Gunn. Says Show-Gunns, Big Gunns, Billy Show Gunns, and names some others. Vince says he doesn't care and leaves. Show likes when Vince says Double Trouble.

Flashback to Angle winning the WCW Title. Angle in the back with Cole about winning the title from Booker T. Asks if he thinks his title is in jeopardy. Angle says Mary Lou Retten called him and showed herself in public again. He says he's confident too because he's better than Booker T. Tells Booker that he was crying after he got beat. Says he can't stand a man who cries when he loses. It's okay if you win, but when you do it when you lose, you're a loser. And speaking of losers, there's another loser he knows he's better than and that's Austin. Says he's a better competitor, athlete and singer than him. Challenges Austin to a match at Summer Slam for the title and plans on bringing it home where it belongs. Says that not a promise or a wish but it's true. Stephanie and Shane in the back waiting for Rock. Vince comes out and an argument starts. Limo pulls up and everybody runs to it. Kanyon gets out and they all leave.

Matt/Lita vs. Helms/Torrie. Lita and Torrie start. Lita with a fireman carry takeover on Torrie. Armwringer and wristlock on Torrie. Rake to the eyes by Torrie and a wristlock on Lita. Clothesline by Lita for 2. Scoop slam on Torrie and Lita gets dropped by Helms by the hair. Matt comes in and doubleteam on Lita with a double suplex. Torrie covers for 2. In the corner Torrie kicks to the body on Lita. Chokes her on the ropes. Goes for a scoop slam and Lita counters with a DDT. Both crawl for tags. Matt takes down Helms with clotheslines and a sidewalk slam for 2. Whip on Helms and POETRY IN MOTION with Lita on Helms. Torrie in and gets whipped to the corner and gets some of the same. Helms in with a neckbreaker on Matt. Lita with a huricanranna from the top ropes on Helms. Legdrop from the top rope by Matt. Torrie in on Matt. Matt with the TWIST OF FATE. Torrie with a low blow and Matt rolled up by Helms for the win.

Backstage Austin with Booker again and points to the gold. Austin gives him a lecture about having none because he lost it to Angle last Thursday with the spineroonie. Booker says he feels sick. Austin said it's from the cookies. Last time he ate them he crapped for 3 days!! Goes on with the pep talk. WWF New York shown where Test is. Ross asks him about his loyalties. Test says that he's disappointed that they thought he would leave the WWF. And he's pissed that he got beat up. Even though he's still friends with Shane, his loyalty lies with the WWF. He wishes luck to Angle over Booker T and welcomes Rock back where he belongs.

Kurt Angle vs. Booker T. Shane comes down with Booker. Angle meets him on the ramp and hammers him with right hands. Alliance members come down and gang up on Kurt. Into the steel steps he goes. They whip him out and GORE from Rhyno. WWF comes out and gets into the face of the Alliance. Booker rolls out of harm's way. Damage already done to Kurt. Refs out to separate the two factions. Booker and Shane watching from a safe position over the barricade. After the commercial, Angle is moving outside. Booker T puts him on the barricade face first. Chops on Angle and into the ring he gets rolled. Match finally starts and Booker with kicks to the head on Angle. Angle explodes back with right hands a kick to the midsection and a clothesline. Belly to belly overhead suplex on Booker. In the corner, a barrage of right hands find their way to Booker's head. Shane comes in the ring and Kurt chases him out. Booker comes back with a back kick to the head of Angle to take him down. Booker with chops, and they exchange right hands. Angle goes for a belly to back suplex but Booker connects with a mule kick to stop it. Shortarm clothesline on Kurt for 2. Snap mare takedown by Booker followed by a knee to the forehead. Armwringer on Angle and a counter but Booker back with a back kick for 2. Booker trash talks Hebner. Angle back with a small flurry of right hands. Booker with a knee to the midsection and slams Angle down for 2. Reverse chinlock on Angle. Angle fights back and uses right hands. Booker misses the clothesline but doesn't miss the forearm and down goes Kurt for a 2 count. Hard chop from Booker and again in the corner. Takes the boots to Angle down in the corner. Again Booker with the ref not liking what he's saying. Kurt back with a right hand and Booker comes back with one. Angle with a BIG suplex on Booker!!! Both men down. Ref starts the count. Fight shown still continuing backstage with WWF and Alliance members. Back in the ring, Booker gets a chair from Shane. No DQ so the chair is legit. Booker misses the shot to the head and Angle comes back with a reverse elbow and a clothesline. Belly to back suplex for 2 on Booker. Angle with hard rights but Booker with the knee to the midsection and goes for the scissor kick but Angle moves and counters with ANGLE SLAM!!! ANKLE LOCK ON BOOKER! Austin comes down and Austin punches the hell out of him. Shane on the apron. Austin goes for the Stunner and knocks the ref out of the ring instead. Booker with the HARLEM SIDEKICK FOR 2! Shane calls for another ref. ANGLE SLAM AGAIN!!! STUNNER ON ANGLE!!! Hebner rolled back in by Shane and Booker gets the win and the NEW WCW CHAMPION!!! Angle takes off after Austin.

Fighting still in the back. Austin shown taking off and running from Angle. Gets in his truck and leaves. Angle almost catches him. After the break, Angle shown with Debra, Mrs. Stone Cold. She asks if she's going back to the hotel to give her hubby a little snack. She says the cookies are for the Rock. Angle says he's gonna do something to her that her husband doesn't have the guts to do. Tell her the truth. He takes a cookie and tastes it and says they suck and so does her husband. And give him the message that when Angle sees him in the ring, he'll do this to his ankle and uses a cookie as an example.

Edge/Christian vs. Storm/Kanyon. Storm tries to talk and tells Edge and Christian that nobody enjoys a good party more than he does but they're continual shenanigans.........Edge drops Kanyon on his head and hits with a spinning heel kick. Christian in and doubleteam on Kanyon with armdrag. Storm in and gets whipped to the corner. Christian with a backbreaker on Kanyon. Edge in on Storm when he hits Kanyon by mistake. Christian misses clothesline on Kanyon and Storm dropkicks Kanyon onto Christian for 2. Storm in with a kick to the ribs on Christian. Drop kick to the face for 2. Kanyon in with boot to the ribs. Kanyon with a suplex for 2. Scoop slam and Kanyon with an inverted backbreaker. Storm off the ropes with a legdrop to the head of Christian. Clothesline by Storm. Kanyon in with a knee to the ribs for 2. Reverse chinlock on Christian but Christian fights up valiantly. Kanyon gets a neckbreaker. Kanyon brings Christian away from Edge and into the turnbuckle. Shoulders to the midsection. Crowd chanting BORING! Whip on Christian but elbow to Kanyon stops the momentum. Christian with a reverse DDT on Kanyon. Edge in with Storm and down they go with clotheslines. Back body drop on Storm. SPEAR ON STORM FOR 2!! Christian in to take care of Kanyon. Poetry in Motion on Storm. Over the ropes goes Kanyon. Storm with the belt but misses the hit on the head. IMPALER ON STORM!! Kanyon hits Edge on the belt face first. Lance Storm rolls over for the win.

Backstage celebration with Booker winning the gold back. Angle comes in and drops all of them. Booker leaves and Angle takes off after him. Regal comes in the back with Vince. Vince is upset about the title being stolen from Angle. Regal says a limo has been spotted coming toward the building. Vince asks how Regal knows it's him. Regal says the license says Rocky 1. Vince says that's the license on the car he sent for Rock and they leave.

Kidman vs. X-pac in Title for Title match. Kidman attacks before the bell. Xpac back with hard right hands to the midsection. Huricanranna takeover by Kidman. Xpac with a hip toss over the top ropes. Xpac over the top ropes onto Kidman. Xpac thrown into the ringpost over Kidman's head. Billy bounces him off the barricade and then into the ring they go. Kidman with a legdrop for 2. Xpac with right hands but gets a spinebuster from Kidman. Up on the ropes goes Billy and misses the splash. Xpac with a spinning heel kick and another one. POWERBOMB for 2 on Kidman. Billy thrown into the corner. BRONCO BUSTER ON KIDMAN!! Xpac on the top rope and gets dropped by Kidman with a drop kick on the way down for 2. Xpac with a kick to the chest. Xpac whipped to the corner and Bulldog from Kidman. Xpac on the ropes and gets crotched. Kidman climbs up and XFACTOR FROM THE TOP FOR THE WIN!!! NEW WCW CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPION!!!

In the back Vince and Regal waiting. Steph and Shane come out and Shane says he smells Rock coming. Vince says the license plate says Rock #1 the car. Limo rolls up and Howard Finkel gets out apologizing that he misunderstood the directions Vince gave him. Shane says Vince has been out there all night ready to kiss the Rock's ass. They're gonna wait for him in the ring. Vince tells Howard to get back in the car. Vince says he's gonna wait for Rock in the ring. Flashback to RAW with Undertaker/DDP/Sara.

Coach with Dudleys about them putting Sara through a table. Buh Buh says they agreed to the match because they hoped Sara would be there. And if she's there, she'll go through a table. Dvon says that Taker tried to leave her home once before and that didn't work. Buh Buh says if he leaves her backstage you never know where DDP might be lurking. Dvon says even security doesn't work. Buh Buh says where oh where will his little Sara be safe!

Rocky statue shown outside the arena. ROCK IN FRONT OF IT!!! Looks in the camera and gives the People's Eyebrow and walks away.

Dudley Boys vs. Undertaker/Kane in Tables Match. First one to put a competitor through a table wins the match. Sara comes out with Taker. All four start. Undertaker with Buh Buh outside. Kane with Dvon inside. Dvon bounced in and out of the corner and sidewalk slammed. Dvon with right hands on Kane but they don't phase the big man. Dvon into the corner again but gets an elbow from Dvon. Kane with a slam when he comes out of the corner. Kane up on the ropes and connects with a flying clothesline. Choke hold on Dvon and Buh Buh comes in after knocking Taker down outside. Taker sets up a table. Kane outside with Dvon. Buh Buh rakes the eyes of Taker. Drop toe hold on Kane into the steel steps. Taker with a whip on Buh Buh in the corner. Taker outside and goes after Dvon who is stalking Sara. Buh Buh comes out and hits Taker from behind. Doubleteam on Taker. Doubleteam neckbreaker on Taker. Table brought in the ring. Kane comes in and gives Buh Buh a big boot to the face and kicks him outside. Dvon with right hands to Taker in the ring. Kane with Buh Buh outside with right hands. Dvon with a hard right and tries to suplex Taker but he blockes it. Taker with body shots and an armwringer and a shoulder shot on Dvon. OLD SCHOOL!!!!!!!! DEAD MAN WALKIN THE ROPES!!! Dvon pulls him off but he gets caught in a choke. CHOKESLAM!!! but Nick Patrick moves the table. DDP IN WITH A LOW BLOW. Grabs Sara while Dudley's put up the table. Sara on Buh Buh's shoulders. Sara pounds on Buh Buh's head. Taker in the ring and Kane on the apron. Taker with Buh Buh in a choke. CHOKESLAM THROUGH THE TABLE FOR THE WIN!!! DDP nowhere to be seen!!

Vince on the phone saying he's on his way to the ring and to make sure Rock gets the proper treatment when he pulls into the parking lot. Shane and Stephanie on their way too. Limo pulls up. ROCK IS HERE!!! Vince to ring. Shane and Stephanie come to the ring too. Rocky chant goes up. AND HERE'S THE ROCK!!!!! THE ARENA IS GOING NUTS!!! Shane says it feels great doesn't it? Tells him to take a trip down memory lane with the WWF and how he was screwed by Vince. Takes him back to Raw the day after WM. Says he was in a steel cage match and got screwed by Vince. Night before at WM itself , Rock got screwed by Vince. Shane goes back to the WM before that and he was screwed by Vince there too. And if Rock decides to come back to WWF that's what he's gonna get night after night. He'll get screwed over and over and over again by Vince. Vince says (Rocky chant) he admits that Shane's views of the facts are distorted but some are accurate. He says it was a very bad decision for him to back Austin against Rock. He should have known better. Austin is a rattlesnake and it was only a matter of time before he bit him. He's not offering an apology because it would be empty handed to a man like Rock. But he's hoping he'll come back to the WWF. And if he does he'll never ever screw him again. He's looking in his eyes but he can't say he'd never do it again. It would depend on if it was good for business. If nothing else he's getting the truth and he's getting the devil he knows compared to the devils he don't. If he comes back to WWF Vince will attempt to earn his respect and trust every day. He might never trust him again and that's okay. But at least trust himself. And trust each and every one of the fans. Says his future is with the fans and the WWF. Crowd erupts again!! Shane says the future is with the fans but not with the WWF. Crowd booes. Goes on about the WWF dieing and the Alliance is where it's at. The Alliance is a progressive company and Rock is a progressive guy. The biggest free agent in the business, the biggest icon in the business today. Make his future with the Alliance. Vince and Shane get face to face. Vince tells Rock to listen to the voice of experience and give the people what they want. ROCK BOTTOM ON VINCE!!!! Shane and Stephanie running around!!! Rock looks at Shane who is smiling. Rock smiles back and shakes his hand. ROCK BOTTOM ON SHANE!!!! PEOPLE'S ELBOW ON SHANE!!! Rock climbs the ropes and raises his arm!! Takes the mic and says FINALLY, THE ROCK HAS COME BACK TO THE WWF!!!! IF YA SMELLLLLLLLL WHAT THE ROCK IS COOKIN!!!!! Show ends with Rock on the ropes giving the People's Eyebrow.
