Guerrilla War in Greece
In this country the resistance begun in 1942, with the formation of 2 main organizations: The EDES, republican, and the ELAS, communist. This groups acted separated one from each other due to ideological differences. The most common way of action consisted in attacking small villages and german garrisons and retreating soon to avoid figthing with the german forces in numerical inferiority.
When the wwii was near to an end both guerrilla organizations tried to seize control of the country, but the british intervention prevented the communist to take control of the country. After the ww2 was over the communist guerrilla tried to overthrow the republican government supported by the russians, but thanks to the western aid they were defeated.
