WWWCW Ringside with Eric Maltby
**WARNING, what you are about to read is the most biased article you may read. All opinions within are strictly the views of Eric Maltby and not necessarily the views of Markus, the other 3WCW wrestlers or anyone else.**

Brief Introduction
- Basically what I intend to do with this article is just tell you all my thoughts on the ongoings of the wrestling world. Now I don't pretend to know everything about the wrestling world, and that is the exact reason I have no intention of writing news or rumors. I've decided to simply tell you how I feel about things. I expect a lot of what I say to offend people. But thats part of the game. I really don't have a game plan for what I'm about to discuss but lets get at it shall we?

World Wrestling Federation
- Its a been a long time since I wrote this article, and I have a lot to catch up on. Lets start with this...

The Undertaker - I absolutely hate this gimmick. I'm sorry but Undertaker has always been a favorite of mine. Ever since his debut and they played him off as a monster heel. But this biker gimmick is DOA all over again. I just can't stand it. I want to see the Satanic Lovin' 'Taker in the fed again.

Right To Censor - If I took the ho's away, I'd be the most hated man in wrestling. Stevie Richards is that right now. But he's not getting the kind of heat that made guys like Hollywood Hogan and Steve Austin heels. He's getting cheap heel heat in an angle that is bound to go nowhere. I like Stevie Richards but I feel he is being misused by the WWF, and I hope his next gimmick will lead him into the IC title.

Tazz vs Lawler - Tazz is finally in a feud. Which is great for him. The negative of this feud is Jerry Lawler is in it. I like Tazz and I think he'll be a huge player in the WWF for sometime to come. I think this feud will establish Tazz as a heel but at what cost?

Overall - Business is still great for Vinnie Mac and Co. But the product is getting stale. While the attempt to elevate younger stars seems to be in the works, I would expect that people like Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho will get lost in the shuffle. Heading into Summerslam I could see Kurt Angle winning the World Title. I'm not sure if thats a smart move based on how his character is portrayed but it makes sense to have that happen so we can avoid Triple H vs The Rock part 84.

World Championship Wrestling

The Demon - How dumb is this guy? I realize that he has to be pushed because of a contract WCW has with KISS, but he's just not getting over. While at Nitro in Kelowna, Markus and I started a "Demon Sucks" chant during both of his appearances at ringside. But if anyone can get him over its gonna be Vince Russo. I've heard a lot of internet "smarts" say that Russo is ruining WCW, but reguardless of what the ratings say WCW is a better product now than it was back in March.

Booker T - I love this guy. Every week he gets pounded and every week he finds a way to win. Booker T vs Lance Storm a few weeks back was an awesome match. You could just sort of feel that Storm was about to win only to have Booker T come back and get the clean win. Booker T vs Jeff Jarrett was a great feud. I don't know how many of you saw the first time these guys faught but that was an awesome match. It was on Thunder, and I was sure Booker wouldn't win but there were so many times he almost won. It was incredible. Booker went on to lose that match but it was Match of the Year calibre.

Lance Storm - Perhaps its because I hail from Calgary.... Alberta, Canada. But damnit Lance Storm is just awesome. This guy cuts the funniest promos and his in ring work ethic just amazes me. How refreshing is it for a wrestler to say "I just do what I'm told"? He is easily the biggest heel in WCW, and maybe even the entire wrestling world. For some reason Americans just don't like a guy who says Canada is Better than them. The pops this guy got while in Canada were amazing and his character has nowhere to go but up. In only three short months he has held three of the five titles in the WCW promotion. This guy hadn't held a singles title in over seven years, and then finally he wins three in a three week span. Simply Amazing.

Overall - I like where WCW is currently, but more importantly I like where they are going. A young base of talent combimed with veterns like Kevin Nash and Scott Steiner it makes for interesting TV. You'll notice that I had more good things to say about WCW than I did about WWF, and thats because I feel WCW is the better product. They have weeded out the problems backstage like Hogan, Luger and whoever else didn't want to do what they were told. A lot of people are prejudical against WCW and will argue with me that WWF is the better product but thats too bad cause this is my article so I can say what I want.

3WCW

This is a new part to my article. I said I wouldn't talk about the 3WCW here. But I'm only going to talk about behind the scenes stuff that you normally wouldn't hear about.

Joe Munno/Nick Waeltz - These two guys tried to hold down the fort while Markus and I were away, but they too got burnt out. With Markus back in the saddle I think things look good on the up and up. Munno leaves on good terms, and will continue on as a wrestler. Nick Waeltz leaves without really ever being around. I'm not sure what his role was within the 3WCW, I can only assume he quit "working" on it a long time ago. Joe started some interesting angles, but I think most if not all of them will be dropped, so that Markus can mold the fed how he invisions it.

Gravedigger - The shoot heard round the world. I've always liked Gravedigger as a character, and the person. I know for fact that everything he said in his shoot was what he felt and I can't fault him for that. That combined with the fact he did not put down the fed, other than the direction his character was going, I thought was classy. I also thought what he said to Joe was his truth but I commend him on not yelling and swearing. I thought his email was very well written and served its purpose just fine. On that same token its too bad it was what pushed Munno out the door. Gravedigger will be missed by everyone in the 3WCW, maybe one day he'll return but I wouldn't count on it. After talking with him, I think its safe to say he is done.

Well that brings me to the end of my article. Just remember...
Those are my thoughts, not yours... I'm Eric... Maltby.
