Charles "Charlie" Young: Charlie is 21, and dating the President's youngest daughter, Zoey Bartlet. Zoey attends Georgetown, and Charlie often goes over to her dorm room to watch videos. In his formative years, he worked as a waiter at the exclusive Gramercy Club, presumably one of those hoity-toity private clubs (Like the Cypress Club in Pebble Beach ::coughcough::) and as a caddie at Sandy Hooks. He forewent college in order to take care of his younger sister Deena after his mother, a police officer, died on duty after being shot with a cop-killer bullet. She wasn't supposed to work that night, but he asked her to switch. Charlie applied for a job as a messenger, but was picked to be vetted for the position of "Personal Aide to the President", his official title.

He has received thousands of death threats due to his dating the President's daughter, and was the intended target at the Rosslyn attack. Despite this, he hasn't had a breakdown. Or at least one that we have seen. (As Rachel screams from the dark depths, "BRING ON THE CHARLIE ANGST BABY!")

He thinks Joey Lucas is a "mighty fine lookin' woman" and gives advice on wooing when needed - something, apparently, he thinks Josh needs. He also owns his own bike, plays basketball and poker with the staff, and if he ever met the man that killed his mother, he'd want to kill him himself. He is extremely bright and has come up with various proposals for domestic issues, though he still does not feel comfortable bringing them up. Charlie has an extensive knowledge of carving knives, tons of AP credit, and likes to play detective.
