In the News... November 2003... Supplement

New 16 November 2003

Imagine service 94 passengers' surprise when "Barry" turned up on the route wearing "MBNA Commuter Services" in its destination. This Dart is usually based at Mancot and reserved for MBNA shuttle duties at Chester Business Park. It is seen at Dolgellau Eldon Square. Photo: C Williams

A rare outing for this ex-Arriva Cymru Olympian on Saturday 15 November on service 111 which is normally reserved for brand new single deck low floor buses. Photo: C Williams

A number of Arriva buses now display advertisements for Wales & Borders rail services under the "ease the Congestion" campaign, all of which include a journey and the appropriate fare. Seen in Colwyn Bay is one such advertisement for Hereford to Cardiff as seen here

As featured recently in the News section, Colwyn Bay has recently begun using bus back advertising to attract shoppers and visitors to town. Neighbouring Llandudno is understood to be examining ways in which it can benefit from a number of schemes under consideration by Colwyn

Arriva's autumn 2003 marketing campaign features three routes: Wrexham to Chester ser 1; Llandudno to Caernarfon ser 5; and Rhyl to Llandudno ser 12. Many buses on 12 are now branded with a purple strip along the cant rail and fares plus frequency information on the near side

Stored at Rhyl following summer season workings are a number of open top buses, including VRs.

Awaiting final detail is this GHA coach, vinyled in its latest style but with gold flashes instead of silver. Photo: C Williams
