As each circle in life is completed
We all lose a little something in the bargain

As each little one comes in the world
And each old one goes out

As the sun sets on the blue of the ocean
The tide heads out to sea

As the moon rises and looks over us all
The tide comes back in to play

As we grow up and move
We must lose some friends

As each little raindrop falls to the ground
A puddle somewhere dries up

As each grain of sand slips through my fingers
I think of the past that holds you

As each thought passes through my mind
I remember things we shared

As each remembered memory comes
I feel like running from them again

As each circle in life is completed
We all lose a little something in the bargain
