Locked in darkness, striving for light
Aching for a future, a hope
The lid on my box is wedged on tight
Walls push in, closing in around me
My screams bouncing in my head;
Hands tied as I struggle to find my path

Sometimes the only way is force
Love doesn't always work
Your eyes pry into my soul
You challenge me to think,
Push my limited and break my box

Behind me, encouraging me
All of it unspoken
A stumble, falter and yet you're still there
Quiet strength, a helping hand

Protection and danger at once
A craving desire and unspoken fear
Exultation, light flows into the box
The prison is broken, free
Eyes open as nothing becomes everything.
