~Dare To Live~

Walking through the nameless faces, all eyes bent toward the ground
Mere existence is the only trace, of what their lives hold now
Barren and lost their glances come, lost somewhere in days of old
Searching through the memories, for a way to come back home
Where life was new and daring, and love was once so bold
Each memory brings more longing, for some shelter from a world so cold
How they lost their one cannot know, just existing can make you blind
To the path that living can unfold, when we simply take the time
Take time to smell the roses, be bold and dare to dream
Take a chance to love someone madly, take time to simply breathe
Our lives pass by so quickly, it is too barren a life just to be
For in living there are no boundaries, and in daring to live we are truly free

~Racing~

The wind whips through my hair
As I push the pedal to the floor
I let the music drown me
Trying to outrun the heartache that's in store

I watch the stars streak by me
Like a fire blazing against the night
Leaving the memory of your touch
In a cloud of dust as I roar out of sight

I never asked to love you
It was something that was meant to be
But the lonieless overwhelms me
When I realize it can never be me

It can never be me that holds you
I can never take your hand
And  that promising thought of forever
Is like water slipping through my hands
I've spent my whole life searching
For that kind of love that can make you whole
The kind of love that takes you completely
A love that ignites your soul

But tears stain my eyes as I shift the gears
Knowing I've lost the fight
To Fate's bitter sweet kiss
And the arms that hold you close tonight

I'll just keep on racing
Leaving nothing but the glow of the tail lights
As I press the pedal to the floor
And slowly fade from sight

Cause I never meant to love you
It is something that just is right
As I ot run the heartbreak in my rear-view mirror
Thast's haunting me tonight
