Farm News
Sept. 27, 2002
Well, here it is September already, where has the time gone? Summer is winding down and the leaves are beginning to turn, fall is just around the corner.
Although we did not show much this summer it was exciting all the same. Thanks to Sally Davidson of Cat Creek, we added two wonderful ponies to our breeding program. The first is Cat Creek quicken (Jungians Mackenzie x Yokecrest Golden Mirage. Quicken is a beautiful cremello Section C Cob mare, that is in foal to our Section D stallion Toandos Mountain Man for an April 2003 foal. We are very excited especially since this foal is pre-sold. The second pony is Cat Creek Graycious Me (CC Fury x Yokecrest Golden Mirage). She is a stunning smutty palomino with a wonderful floating trot. We feel that both of these girls will be a tremendous asset to our breeding program and our farm. Thank-you Sally.
We were also blessed, with seven wonderful foals by our three stallions. We got six fillies and a colt, not bad at all, although a good stallion prospect is always good for your farm. All of these foals are incredible and the best of both of their parents. Three of these babies will be heading to their new homes next month, and we have retained two of the A fillies to add to our breeding program.
Brynn came back from a very successful 90 days of driving training with Tony Peterson, and although he did not see the show ring this summer, (none of the boys did they had a constant stream of mares visiting them this summer), he took to driving like a duck takes to water. Rosie paid a visit to the Mauers of Gaslight Farm, in California, and came home in foal to Ceulan Lwcus. She is due Valentines Day, so start thinking of names, this will be a very special foal. Ray and Elise Hearn were very gracious and leased us their beautiful Section B mare Alvesta Rose Ellen, who is in foal to Lane’s Master Copy.
We are looking forward to many winter projects, getting carts redone, ponies trained, and hitting all of the shows next summer. I am working on getting Bob driving and hope to have Stirlings Dhynah and Wyndam Hills Rhianna in harness so that we can both drive.
Our little Rosie (Bengad Rose Hip), is also traveling to California to Gaslight farms to be bred to Ceulan Lwcus. We are very excited about this cross! I already have one filly by Lwcus and I know what great babies he produces.
Well that is about all of the news for now, but remember we would love to see you, so come by and see the family.
