Pat Bergie
, will be speaking at Sunday morning’s Scouts’ Own. In her quiet way she conveys cultural information to gain understanding among people of many races.Pat is a descendent of Sacajawea and Chief Washakie and is an enrolled member of the Eastern Shoshone Tribe. She is the Grants Coordinator and Planner for the Eastern Shoshone Tribe of Wyoming. Pat is an Ordained Deacon of the Episcopal Church, conducts "Pat Tours" of the Wind River Indian Reservation, and has been a very active Girl Scout volunteer for 12 years. She has been the School Board Clerk for Fort Washakie School District #21, a gubernatorial appointee to the Wyoming Arts Council, coordinator for the Shoshone Tribe Census and a member of the Wyoming Humanities Speakers’ Bureau. Pat created programs on "Sacajawea" and "Washakie" for the Humanities’ Council. In 1998 her speech "Washakie" was the most sought after Speakers’ Bureau presentation.
