Waiting

New Life Flows through the veins of the trees
The hint of summer stirs in the breeze
I look at the clouds, will it rain will it snow
And time slips by I don’t know where it goes

Sitting on the steps, alone in the night
Something is missing; I can feel it’s not right
Good things are coming, is written in the sky
Will I see these things, before alone I will die?

Someone walks by, they glance my way
Do they know how much, not to be alone I would pay
Someone loves me, with all of her heart
Yet from her, I continue to be apart

New Life is flowing, to leaf and to tree
Good things are coming, whispers the breeze
How long can I wait, with hope on the unknown?
How long can I stand, to be so alone?
