Black Spiral Dancer Gifts
The Black Spiral Dancers, through impressing others into their tribe and their 'press-gang' tactics, have access to ALL Tribe gifts of all other Garou tribes, though these listed below are of Wyrmish origin, some are corrupted versions of other tribes powers, others are blessings from Wyrmish spirits and toxic elementals.
Level 1:
Unearthly Howl: The Black Spiral Dancer is able to focus the power of his howl into a banshee-like shrieking chittering sound that rips through the air, sending a crawling fear into the minds of his foes, who will begin hallucinating, seeing flitting shapes here and there that distract him, causing doubt to seep into his thoughts, making his actions less sure and certain, and more prone to failure. This is taught by a tainted Wolf-spirit.
Wyrm-stench: The Dancer can concentrate the corrupt stink of the Wyrm into a thick miasma of choking air that will cause any creature with a sense of smell or taste to choke and gag, able to do nothing except spew their guts up or double over, retching emptily while the Dancer remains unaffected. This power is an area effect that extends a good twenty feet or more around the Dancer. This is taught by a BSD Ancestor-spirit.
Level 2:
Stomach Pumper: This Gift is exactly the same as the Fomor power of the same name, though the roiling, seething juices of the Garou's gut are far more potent, when using this Gift, the Dancer spews forth a voluminous stream of tainted, half eaten flesh and digestive fluids. The mere stench of the vomitus is enough to cause targets to vomit themselves, and the acids of the Dancer's stomach are powerful enough to cause searing burns, even to the point of blinding a target if this is spat in their face. This vile power is taught by any Bane.
Balaraam's Bite: Through the corrupting of Nagah, the weresnakes, this power was created. It allows the Dancer to create a devastating venom that creates an agonising, crippling effect within those that suffer its kiss. Painful stomach cramps and a cold sweat besets the target, (this alone is nasty if used on vampires as they lose precious blood), it also causes a weakening of the cell structure of the targets lungs and neural system, they begin choking on their own blood even as their motor control shorts out, causing spasms and convulsions making any form of combative moves or even clear thought nearly impossible, the ONLY cures to this poison are the Resist Toxin gift, and time alone. It takes roughly a week for the sickness this venom causes to work out of the targets system. This Gift is taught by Snake-spirits.
Level 3:
Fallout: The Dancer can channel powerful radiation spirits and empower them to create the destructive effects of a nuclear fallout around them for an area of a hundred feet or more. Within this area, and within a few seconds, grass and other plant life will die, the cellular bonds of flesh will weaken and veins will rupture, causing agonising internal damage and searing burns as hard radiation and toxic spirits infest targets within the area of effect. Within a few more seconds, eruptions and weeping sores will form, permanent damage will manifest in targets flesh through irreparable organ damage, and permanent mutations and deformities will afflict those within the area not immune to radiation. Any longer within this area of effect is fatal for those not immune to radiation or specified during the invocation of this Gift as cellular bonds decay and rot beyond hope of regenerating. This Gift is taught by radiation spirits.
Necrotic Bite: The Black Spiral Dancer is able to temporarily mutate his saliva into a disgusting black bile that coats his teeth, and if desired, can be spat upon his claws too. It comes into effect when a strike inflicts itself upon flesh, penetration of the skin is not needed. The bile infests the target with necrotic spirits that strip the supernatural protections from a targets flesh and cause it to start rotting as though suffering from an advanced case of ebola or a vastly concentrated version of the venom of a brown recluse spider. This necrotic venom eats its way through a target and is capable of reducing their entire body's flesh to sludge within two posts if a good clean hit is gained, otherwise it will simply rot the location of the strike. This power is taught to the Dancers by tainted Spider-spirits or Disease Spirits.
Level 4:
Mirrors of the Wyrm: The Black Spiral Dancers are masters of corruption and the inversion of the nature of things, and this ability is a testament to that. It transmutes the Dancer's eyes to what looks like liquid silver, the hypnotic swirl of the gleaming material simply seeming to be a shift in the Dancers eyes. Its nature comes into play, however, when a Gift, Discipline, Boon, or other power is used upon the Dancer, the energies of the Wyrm simply bounce it back to slam its now tainted effects upon the opponent. This Gift is taught by Nexus Crawlers or other powerful Wyrm-spirits.
Rupture: Taught by spirits of Flesh and War, Dancers beholden of this power are capable of causing serious internal damage to opponents. The target of this power suffers the wracking agony of exploding organs such as the heart, liver, spleen, stomach, intestines, eyes, and kidneys. The Dancer can target one organ with this Gift per Gnosis used in its invocation. It bypasses armour, shielding effects and Fortitude, and other skin/flesh hardening effects, targeting the soft internals of the target. The damage inflicted is considered aggravated as it is supernatural in origin, meaning that it can be fatal to any kind of supernatural that is not immortal, and could be lethal to vampires and others as well given the aggravated nature of the wounds.
Level 5:
Questioning Ones Faith: By corrupting the beliefs of ones opponent, it is possible for a Dancer of the Spiral to cause his opponent to doubt himself to such a degree that any action he takes is doomed to failure, even to the point of falling by the wayside on the Road or Path he was on (if vampiric) or even losing True or Dark Faith. This Gift is taught by a Spirit of Corruption.
Taint: The taint of the Wyrm is far-reaching and can infest even the purest of beings and work its insidious way through them, eventually turning them to the Wyrms bidding. Using this power, Dancers can pick a target, taint them, and simply wait for them to become more and more reviled by those around them, corrupt thoughts and ideas will plague the targets mind, inuring him to the ills of the world, and making them more appealing. Even the most stoic of Gaia's defenders could be turned into a slavering, maddened beast of the Wyrm via this power. This Gift is taught to the Dancers by a Spirit of Corruption.
Tearing the Gate: Similar to the Rend Reality Gift possessed by Spiral Ahrouns, this Gift allows a rip to be shredded open in the fabric of reality. Only with the use of this power, it allows the formation of a rift-gate to another location, upon its creation, only those specified by the Dancer may enter and pass through the rift, any other attempt to pass through will result in the persons body being ripped and rent and shunted in every direction and ripped apart by the unstable energies of the small area of shredded reality. This Gift is taught by Nexus Crawlers.
Umbral Mastery: The Dancer is able to create a small Umbral realm similar to Bastet Den Realms. This Realm will only be the size of a regular house and yard but it is impenetrable to intruders and can be used as a rest and recuperation area or a storage space that can be accessed from anywhere. Within this Umbral realm, food and drink can be summoned, and is as real as the prey one would find in the real world. It is possible to exist here indefinitely. This is taught by a Nexus Crawler.
These following gifts are the most powerful weapons the Black Spiral Dancers possess, and are truly powers to be feared.
Level 6:
Lashing the Tail: The Dancers can corrupt anything, and with this power, they corrupt the very Gauntlet between worlds, tainting it with vast amounts of destructive Wyrmish energy, effectively making the place a no-shift zone. Attempts to traverse or breach through into another realm from the one this is invoked in will cause a sudden unleashing of pure Corrupt energy in the target, destroying them utterly as the Wyrm Itself lashes its tail, removing the offending realm-breacher from existence. This power is taught by the Wyrm Itself or one of Its most powerful servants. Trying to plane-shift, step sideways, use Necromancy, or any other kind of power that involves/includes contact between realms will result in instant death, as the target literally makes a suicide post, their own action resulting in their death.
The Mother Turns on Her Children: By stamping his foot upon the ground and snarling in rage, the Dancer can cause a devastating sonic blast that will burst the eardrums of any enemy near the Dancer. The earth itself will quake and tremble, magma bursting up from the ground and splashing in great gouts of burning molten rock to cover the area, unleashing powerful tainted earth elementals that will slow and destabilise the movement of anyone not friendly to the caster. The magma itself is possessed by warped fire elementals that will cause it to lunge and lurch toward hostiles, and any spirits in the airea not aligned to the Dancer will temporarily go insane and attack warriors of Gaia instead of the Dancer and his allies. An opponent whose power relies on spirits and such, including Garou, will find himself suddenly possessed of relatively little defensive or offensive power as the spirits in the area refuse to heed the call. This potent Gift is taught by a powerful tainted elemental spirit.
Level 7:
Raping the Mother's Children: By focusing all his twisted rage and power, a Black Spiral Dancer possessed of this ungodly power is capable of ripping away the pure and holy power granted to any being of light. The Dancer literally tearing the power from their soul and leaving a corrupt, festering wound in its wake. Hunters can be stripped of their True Faith, Garou can be ripped away from their spiritual ties with Gaia, and Mages can have their Avatars smashed like a mirror into a thousand pieces. This power is a warped and Wyrm-tainted variant of the Silver Fang Gift, Paws of the Newborn Cub, only this Gifts effects are permanent and leave an empty hollow feeling inside the one so devastated, a permanent depression as they feel the pain of knowing greater things and having lost them. This devastating Gift can be taught only by the Wyrm or one of its blessed chosen.
Ahroun:
Level 2:
Arquebus: The Black Spiral Dancer calls upon the strength
and ire of the Wyrm to bolster his ability in combat against innately "tough"
or supernaturally stalwart opponents, it allows him to use the equivalent
of vampiric Potence for the purposes of inflicting damage in combat. This
Gift is taught by The Green Dragon or by a Hydraulic Elemental.
Level 3:
Asbestos Kiss: once learned, the Black Spiral Dancer's hide and flesh become fire resistant - fire still harms the Garou, but the damage is considered normal rather than aggravated for combat purposes and any loss of Health Levels from the effects of fire, natural or magickal (created by Art, Arcanoi, Discipline, Gift, Numina or other supernatural forces.), may be regenerated at little effort to the werewolf, much like he could from a simple slash wound, or other normal damage. This Gift is taught by a Carcinogen Spirit of Corruption or by a Balefire Elemental.
Strontium Claws: The Black Spiral Dancer can turn her claws into solid Strontium
99 - a highly radioactive isotope and element - making her frighteningly effective
against her opponents; All claw wounds inflict aggravated radiation damage
which cannot be soaked and which take TWICE the normal time to heal, Garou,
Kindred or otherwise. This Gift is taught by a Balefire Elemental.
The Great Annihilator: The Black Spiral Dancer takes a few moments to size up her
opponent pound for pound, paying special attention to any scars, wounds or
other physiological weaknesses that her opponent might possess, whether they
be obvious or not. She does not have to remain inactive or refrain from combat
to do so. After the assessment (next turn) the Black Spiral Dancer is able
to deliver crippling blows to her opponent based on her supposition. All such
damage is double the norm. As this gift does not require the interruption of thought or action, it does not count as an action within a post. This Gift is taught by a Pain Spirit.
Galliard
Level 2:
Flock the Murder: Especially useful in the network of outlying tunnels that spiderweb the underground area of a Black Spiral Hive, this gift, taught by a Vuture Spirit, allows a Dancer to release a phermonic musk when they sustain damage. This musk, when released, attracts all other Dancers in the immediate vicinity of the wounded Garou, summoning them to his aide in combat. This musk is undetectable by any Garou other than the Black Spiral Dancers, but can also be used to attract Vulture Gafflings and other minions of the Wyrm. It is taught by a Vulture Spirit.
Level 3:
Twist of the Wyrm: The Black Spiral Dancer is revealed to his enemies as the living embodiment of the Wyrm's contempt and fury. Both Wyld and Weaver beasts will flee in abject terror from the Black Spiral Dancer unless they can master their instinctual fear of the Triat's corruptor. This gift is taught the by The Duke of Hate, Lord Steel. Note: The creature or being being affected by this Gift DOES NOT require previous knowledge of the Wyrm or the Triad for this Gift to work. Their fear, like their Triatic Alignment, is instinctual and part of their makeup.
Level 4:
Carrion Cry: The Black Spiral Dancer releases a phlegm laced, gutteral and terrible scream from the depths of his twisted soul's hatred and vengeance towards Gaia, a victory cry from the belly of the Wyrm itself for all of its hatred and frustration towards its enemies. Foes are knocked off their feet and sustain damage from this demonic cry. Everyone not aligned with the user of the Gift, within a fifteen foot radius, is stricken with an unearthly terror and sent flying from the Garou, even as the sound causes internal damage from the subsonic portion of the cry, internal organs rupturing, blood vessels breaking down, and all manner of other internal injury. For additional expenditure of Gnosis during the scream, the damage can be increased even further. Additionally, the stricken who hear this cry lose one action in their next two combat rounds as the unearthly fear seeps from them.
Ragabash:
Level 2:
Pre-emptive Strike: The Black Spiral Dancer may press to attack first in any
given turn, regardless of his initiative or the opponents speed, there is
no mandatory point cost or roll for this Gift, but Gnosis my be spent to ensure
extra speed. If in combat with one or more Garou who possess this Gift or
a similar Gift, such as Spirit of the Fray, the combatant who spends the MOST
Gnosis goes first. If all combatants have the same amount of Gnosis, they
all attack simultaneously. If not, whichever combatant has the HIGHEST Gnosis
goes first, second highest second, etc.. This Gift is taught by Tomahawk.
Level 3:
Weep: The Black Spiral Dancer may change her mucous membranes, sweat and saliva
into a putrid, urine-like and lightly viscous ammonia slime capable of harming
anyone who comes into contact with it. The Black Spiral Dancer spends a Rage
Point. Anything that contacts the drool, snot, tears or sweat that seeps and
pours from the Garou takes aggravated damage from the disgusting substance.
The Black Spiral Dancer may also opt to shake herself (like a wet dog) or
spit the ammonia substance at attackers. This effect lasts for the duration
of a scene. This gift is taught by a Bat Spirit.
Warpaint: The Black Spiral Dancer spends Gnosis to activate this power, though
the user of the Gift must have an abundant amount of the substance or scenery
in which she wishes to blend surrounding her. She creates an application of
"warpaint" by spitting into a small bit of the substance or scene (including
water or other liquid) and creating a viscous "mud" in her hands that she
then applies to her face and body. The Dancers Gnosis rating determines how well the
BSD blends in with her surroundings.
1 = The BSD's coat or flesh mock the same general color of the substance,
allowing her to slink into her surroundings with a bit of skill and stealth.
2 = The BSD is virtually indistinguishable from her surroundings in regards
to sight and sound, but spiritual detection is still possible.
3 = The BSD cannot be seen, smelled or heard. Spiritual detection or detection
via Garou Gift is still possible, but all detection Gifts are extremely difficult.
4 = The BSD cannot be seen, smelled or heard and cannot be detected by Garou
Gifts. She can, however, be seen from the Umbra - but that is the only place
she can be seen. She blends in perfectly.
5 or higher = Same as 4, with the exception that the BSD CANNOT be seen from the Umbra.
In the Umbra she simply appears as the substance she is using to camouflage
herself as.
Theurge:
Level 4:
Spiritual Cramp: The Black Spiral Dancer, by force of
consumption, causes a breach in the spiritual connection of other Garou or
Spirits to Gaia, thereby obtaining the ability to leech anothers power to
feed her own. The target loses power each round of combat, while the BSD gains
that lost power and may use it to fuel other powers. This Gift can only be
used only once per target per scene, but is also effective against Gaian Spirits,
Kinfolk, Banes, Umbral Minions, Fomori, Kindred, Daemons, and anything else
with supernatural spiritual reserves.
Level 5:
Summon Nexus Crawler: The Black Spiral Dancer can summon
a Nexus Crawler - one of the most feared Wyrm minions known to the Garou -
from the Umbra. Within reason, and not happily, the Nexus Crawler gives its
summoner absolute loyalty in combat situations that do not involve harming
other Wyrm minions. the Nexus Crawler appears and will heed the marshaling
of the Black Spiral Dancer who summoned it (see Nexus Crawler, pg. 270 of
Werewolf: The Apocalypse 2nd Ed.) until the combat has ended or the Nexus
Crawler is banished OR the Black Spiral Dancer who summoned it is slain. The
appearance of the Nexus Crawler also adds to the morale of all Black Spiral
Dancers involved in combat, meaning they cannot be made to flee, and terror
inducing powers will not work on them, it also halves all their difficulties
involving combat for the duration of the combat as long as the Nexus Crawler
is present.
