Broken You Broken Me
by K. Wyse
Broken bits and pieces of you and me.
Shattered fragments of who we used to be.
Picked clean and forced to fit together,
Jagged edges of our tears and pain
Connected so we'd form a miscellaneous whole
That's cracked and ready to fall.
You and I were drawn like moths
Fatally to each other's bleeding wounds
We're not good for each other
But the burden is so much lighter
Now that we pick at each other's frailties.
I don't make you smile darling,
But you hurt that much less when we're together
And perhaps that's the best we can ever be.
