Wasted Wild Child
by K. Wyse
wasted wild child
came crying to my door
took a purple pill
and got so floored
tear-streaked mascara
bled her soul's core
while she smiled dreamily
seeing paradise and more
she's falling to pieces
and i'm pulling her apart
feeding her the poison
like it's a fine art
she likes the raves
and has never felt more free
than when she soars on black rainbows
away from her pathetic misery
whatever she's running from
must be pretty bad
'cause now she's just wasted
and oh so sad
she gives herself
to any man who smiles her way
'cause sex is love squared
and she longs for love to stay
but they're always gone at dawn
morning afters are always empty
and she's in tears, swallowing pills
to deal with this new-old calamity
she says, she says
that i'm her best friend
stupid girl thinks i give relief
when all i give her is her end
wasted wild child
came crying to my door
took yet another pill
and died on my floor
