The Wanderer

I went out walking thru streets filled with stones
Lifted some stones
Saw the skin and bones
Of a man who has lost his soul

I went out drifting thru clear muddy waters blue
Where the ground won’t turn
And the rain it burns
Like the tears when I say goodbye

I went out searching thru the capitals of green
Looking for a better man
A spirit which love
Would not break or bend

I went out riding under the bullet red sky
Down that old rough lane
I passed by a 1000 signs
Looking for my own name

I WENT WITH NOTHING
NOTHING BUT THE THOUGHT OF YOU
AND I’LL GO WANDERING…..

I went out walking with a bible and a gun
Where men can’t walk and freely talk
And longing of her lay
Heavy in my heart

I WENT WITH NOTHING
BUT THE THOUGHT YOU’D BE THERE TOO
LOOKING FOR YOU
