T-Shirts: There are a few methods to put designs on T-shirts. The one that works the best is silk screen printing..however unless you have about $250 forget it..this stuff is majorely expensive. So onto some more economical methods.
Texta On T-shirt: Well its pretty self explanitiry. The easiest way it to use a pen to do the outlines and then fill it in later with texta(permanent of course). You can use a stencil and trace onto the shirt or material..or if your artistic like i am you can do it freehand. Its harder freehand and often looks a bit shitier, but if you have no patience and dont like to waste time then its good! Make sure you dont wash the shirt straight away...thats just stupid. Try to get a hold of some wax paper and an iron and go over it a few times.
Spray Paint on T-shirt: This is probably the best method for aesthetic purposes. The method is simple...get a can of spray paint. Get ur favourite design and put it on a peice of cardboard or the best is contact paper(the clear stuff u cover school books with).Make sure you cut out the bits you want to show with the paint. The stick it on the shirt making sure there isnt anywhere for the paint to escape. The key is to do a few light coats. They must be even, and light so as not to go under ur stencil..we dont want it to run. Then let it dry. Again go over it with an iron and wax paper(baking paper). MAke sure you do it for atleast 10 to 20 minutes so the paint is potected and seeps into the material..and that about it...very simple and effective.
Pants: Pants are a little more complex and you cant do as much to them. However i have a few ideas on making your own bondage pants and how to customise your own and look a little different.
Bondage Pants: Well the obvious thing is to go out and but some tartan/plaid pants. Don't. You can steal your grandpa's or go to k-mart or something and buy pajama pants. The plaid pants from the proper shops are very expensive and are the same quality as everything else. So go get some cheap ones. Then go to Lindcraft or a shop like that that sells materials etc...and get some zipps. Any colour or size it doesnt matter. Just make sure they have a lip on the side. Dont worry about sewing it in! Just sew the zipp straight on top of the pants, the idea of the zipp is not to be operational, however if your into haberdashery you can make them useable. Next is straps....just go get some little tabs that hold rings into things and then buy material and double it over into a strap and connect it to the ring however the hell you want. Usually four rings are used and the straps crossover eachother. However its upto you
Graffiti Pants: Well you can do this however you want. Use texta, liquid paper, material paint, spray paint...it doesnt really matter. Just draft out your design and put it on the pants..us stencil or do it free hand..you can also put patches on there if you like. Also if you dont tear holes in your jeans naturally then you can make them and sew different materials behing the hole(that always looks cool). Just do whatever you recon..thats the best way, and really the key to D.I.Y.
Jackets & Jumpers: The best and the classic is the leather jacket. The most common method is to get patches and sew them everywhere and anywhere, and then get some studs and put them on wherever. The other is by putting designs on your jacket with stencil and use either acrylic paint or leather paint. Thats about it really, and as for jumpers well look at the top of the page and use the t-shirt method.
