| Nickleback is one of the most famous bands in music right now, but their rise to the top didn't come easy. The band, which started as a cover band in Calgary, Alberta, grew tired of playing other bands' music and thus, thought it would be best to start making their own. After deciding to manage themselves in 1996 they band went through years of touring with very little free time. In 2000 Nickleback released their first album "The State", and it sold an impressive 500, 000 copies. Then in 2001 they released "Silver Side Up" which sold over 9 million copies worldwide. Without a doubt, Nickleback is one of Canada's most successful bands of all time and they're just getting started. They have already won 6 Juno Awards since 2001 including Best New Group, Best Rock Album, Best Single, Best Album, and Best Songwriter of the Year. Nickleback's success will only continue to rise as they have been tagged as one of the hardest working bands in rock n' roll. |
