Sum 41
In the past five years the music industry has seen the rise of a music genre like no other, a genre in which the music is loud and the lyrics are rebellious and usually political. This genre is a blend of many other music styles and is uniquely, the first of its' kind. The Canadian band, Sum 41, started a trend that spread like wildfire throughout the music industry when they exploded into the new-age punk/pop genre with their mix of punk, hip-hop, pop and rock. The world immediately fell in love with the band. Just two years after signing with Island Records they released the multi-platinum selling record "All Killer No Filler". A years later, "Does This Look Infected?" was released and to date, the album is doing very well on the charts. Sum 41 hails from Ajax, Ontario, and is a proud Canadian band. So far, they have been nominated for five Juno Awards since 2001 and in 2003, Sum 41 won the Juno for Group of the Year. Sum 41 has changed music not only in Canada, but worldwide as well and they are pioneers of the new genre of punk/pop music that is continually growing in worldwide popularity.
