Ordo Sylvanus
History of the Guild

The history of this guild began with a fellowship before many of its members were born in Sosaria. It revolved around a man named Dr. Evil. Though his many adventures are too many for this website to chronicle, we must begin with him as he is considered to be the center of what would later be another fellowship of close friends. Dr. Evil was the founder of a guild known as The Holy Order (THO), a guild made up of himself and his founding members, a small group of close friends. As time went by, members found themselves joining other guilds, but the friendships and ideals remained. It was during this time that some important friendships were founded- between the Lothar and his brother, Crackhead Bob, Lothar’s wife Princess Leah, Plato, and Aeolus. These people would eventually found the Ordo Sylvanus.    But as with all things, even great fellowships come to an end. THO was disbanded.It was a heartbreaking time for the core members, yet they held firm to THO beliefs. Many members went into isolation, others formed small guilds, and some joined other guilds. To this day, former members still have fond memories of THO. Of the groups that formed, Lothar's small guild of friends still held THO beliefs, as most were former THO. Lothar moved his small family over to Trammel when it opened, and placed a guildstone to uphold the old codes of THO, while refining what he beleived a guild should be. He remembered fondly how he and his friends depended on the natural order of the forest to meet all their needs. They gathered lumber to build their homes and hone their crafts from the wood of the Yew trees. They trained in martial skills and tactics in defending themselves from murderer and monster alike, yielding a rich history of adventure, triumph, and defeat. But most of all he remembered the strength of the bonds of friendships formed, and the group's inexplicable bond with the wilderness. And thus the order of the forest, the Ordo Sylvanus, came into being.     At first, Lothar and his family kept to themselves, working to improve their skills and trade. They continued to uphold their charter, doing the good deeds or "work" of the land, helping a stranger or passerby. Relationships grew naturally from this work, and our new friends were seeking the same path as we. Without active recruiting, the small family from Lothar was actually beginning to take the shape of a guild on its own. The guild had built itself a loyal core and foundation. And as the fellowship grew- so did its outreach. The guild found themselves working on larger and larger projects, and every once in a while, finding another who walks the same path- seeking to become a member of the family. He met Sir Gilgamesh, one of the finest people of the lands- around which the Ordo Knight program was founded,the woodsman Tess Soaringeagle- the living example of Ordo ideals, and Lady Nadia, the tireless champion of Ordo belief and such a vital member of our team. Crackhead Bob embodied the Bravo mindset to balance Lothar’s strict Alpha codes- while Leah, Plato, and Aeolus counciled their leader Lothar from their own experiences.        To this day, the Ordo Sylvanus stays true to it's core beliefs and charter. We build one member at a time, while constantly working to improve our bonds and take on new challenges, not only in terms of our guild, but in terms of our home, Sonoma. We've been truly fortunate to meet so many wonderful people, as a result of doing what we do, and being what we are. In time, some of them have joined, each one becoming a vaulable member of our family.
