The Art of Deception
By Luto The Whispering Wind
Many amateurs do not understand how much true acting is involved in a good disguise. I'm not talking about that useless stage acting where these senseless people are making fools of themselves, trying to attract as much attention to their person as possible. No, what I'm talking about is real acting. The art of becoming, as far as any observer can tell, the person or profession that you are imitating.

Although you should have some knowledge required to pass yourself off in your chosen disguise, it probably does not surprise you that you may have to respond to some situations as if in possession of knowledge that you do not have. Many beginners, however, fail to see the opposite is true, as they have given away their false identity by showing they knew things that they should not have known.

The delicacies involved in this art seem too numerous to mention, and each master of the art must refine his techniques to best supplement his own unique personality and capabilities. No two masters will ever have the same combination of skills and tricks. Ours is a profession that rewards ingenuity and invention with continuing success while punishing those who practice what is taught, as what is taught is known by too many to be of practical use.

For despite the amount of skill it takes to continue a deception, it is really only a key; a skill used by opportunistic and revolutionary entrepreneurs to achieve a slight advantage over those whose attention to detail and their surroundings lack the necessary basics that could have protected them.
