Me Encounters a Murderer
-An Excerpt from Codex: Mini Me |
"I must return to my quest.
Fare thee well Plato," I heard Lothar say as he left Dr. Evil's famous
Yew shop. Walking into that shop, I saw a strong man, wearing a white tunic,
green kilt, and dark helmet atop a light brown horse.
"Greetings, Mini Me, and well met. I am Plato." Being a young warrior myself, I was impressed by this man's stature and found him to be very welcoming. "You have a nice horse." I commented. "Oh?" he asked. "Well then, you like it so much it's yours!" And with that, he dismounted the horse and bade me to ride. I was overwhelmed by this man's generosity. " I will have to take you out riding, and show you how to handle him. His name is Pud, like the rest of my steeds." He showed me to ride for a while, and we arrived just outside the Yew bank. Just then a figure caught my eye. A beautiful woman with long blonde hair and a skimpy leather outfit walked past. As she walked by my friend Plato made a gesture for her backside. She gasped, turned around and slapped him in the face. With that the encounter was over, or so I thought. It came time to feed Pud, so Plato took us to a nearby farm. Just then, the woman from the bank was seen waiting at the outskirts of town. "You think you're funny Mr. Plato. Come out of town and prove to me that a man like you can handle little 'ole me," she said with a devilish grin. I grew very frightened. Not by her, but by the enormous red daemon she held by a leash. I had never seen one of those beasts before, and its gold eyes glared at Plato and me. Plato moved to apologize to the woman, or so it seemed, but at that instant she yelled "Kill him!" and the great daemon roared and moved in towards Plato. As he went to retreat the woman yelled "An Ex Por!" and froze Plato. I had to do something. I was a new warrior, but I would not let Plato die. My heart pounding, I charged the woman with my steed. In an instant her eyes lit up in surprise at my action, she had to withdraw as some of my attacks were connecting. She drew a crossbow, and began firing shots at me with deadly accuracy. When the bolts hit my flesh they bore painful wounds. I continued my attack with my sword in hand. The battle raged throughout the town. Plato dropped his weapon and began chanting words of power, but it was clear that this woman was more proficient with the art of magery than he. We were losing the battle. And eventually the fight made its way back to Dr. Evil's shop. By that time, this woman had Plato and myself completely exhausted and beaten, she was toying with our lives. A passing fisherman shook his head at the carnage that had taken place. She boasted atop my dying body. "Evil woman!" Plato cried. " You may kill us, but you will never break our spirit!" "HAHAHA! Fool! You and that pitiful warrior could not handle a lone woman?" I spoke to her, coughing blood with each sentence. "I am no great warrior, but I gave you quite a fight, and I will die for my friend here." "Why.." she paused, " would you attack someone who knows you and your companion Lothar so well?" "Wha……..how do you know Lothar?" I asked. "Of course. I know him more than you would even guess." At that point she took her boot off Plato's dying body, and explained to me that she knew all about Lothar, his early days with Dr. Evil my brother, and intimate details concerning his life. She chants a spell of healing on both Plato and me. "You see Mini.." explains Plato, " this was a test of your character. You pass with flying colors, and any man would be honored to have you as a companion." What a relief! To think I would die an early death at the hands of a leather clad woman and her pet daemon! Afterwards we all laughed, but these days I know not to flirt with women who deliver sinister grins………. |
