Now blind she came to rely more heavily on her telepathic abilties and went to Switzerland to recover from her ordeal  There she was held prisnor by Mojo, who gave her artificial eyes and controled her will.  Luckily Professor Xaiver rescued her, and she joined the X-Men.  Her psyche was transpanted into the body of an Asian women, Kwannon, by the chinese crime loard Mandarin.  Kwannon's essence was moved to Betsy's body. As a result both women were able to maintain their own personalities but retained each other's memories and skills.  Kwannon soon died of the Legacy Virus and Betsy become trapped inside her new body her ever.

Her run in with the Crimson Dawn caused her fighting skill and telepathic abilties to develop further.  She aquired the new skill of transporting herself and others through shadows, and being able to become one with the shadow.  She was left with a red "J" shape tattoo over her left eye.  She later was forced to stop using her psychic powers when she imprisioned the Shadow King in her mind.  She then began to develop telekinetic powers.

Betsy, along with several of her other teammates left the mansion in search of Destiny's diaries which foretell the future of the earth.  In Spain the team encountered a new enemy, Vargas, and with her teammates either missing or out of action due to injury she faced off against the villian, and her life ended as he gabed her through the adomen with his sword.
