Luke Skywalker grew up on the outer rim planet of Tatooine. He led a boring farmer?s life
until he intercepted a small astromech droid R2 D2, and his counter part C-3PO. These
two droids flung young Skywalker into a world of adventure he had dreamed about for
years.
Led by a message in the R2 unit Luke met up with Obiwan Kenobi, and Han Solo on a
suicide mission to rescue Princess Leia Organa, a rebel prisoner on the Death Star.
After a few mess ups, and very quick thinking they managed to get her out... or was it
more she managed to get them out?
They all high-tailed it inside of the Millenium Falcon back to the rebel base at Yavin IV.
There with Artoo?s Death Star?s plans they created an attack plan against the nearly
unstoppable death Star.
The imperials, in their master plan had let Luke and company escaped, and tracked them
to the location of good old Yavin IV. All this was leading up to one big time battle. The
battle of Yavin.
Luke Skywalker, along with Biggs Darklighter a child hood friend... not to mention about
28 other dare-devil pilots were all taking part in a attack against the 11 kilometer in
diameter death star. Ouch. Not good odds, not to mention the only way to blow it up was
through a 2 meter wide exhaust port... the size of a womp-rat for all you Tatooine natives.
In the end Luke blew the big old station up, with the last minute help of Han Solo.
In the end Leia gives them nice big awards... sadly the next chapter in Luke?s life isn?t
exactly so bright. What am I saying... ?isn?t exactly? it?s awful!
After scouting out a new Rebel base at Hoth Luke becomes a commander! Yay!
Sadly, Darth Vader who has become obsessed with finding him sent out millions of probe
droids... one of which found it?s way onto Hoth. Luke saw this droid, thought it was a
meteor... and well got nearly eaten by a wampa. A creature that resides on hoth. Let me
tell you, it is no happy bunny rabbit. It?s more like a Yetti.
Han finally finds Luke, and rescues him leaving the ?kid? with 2 incidents where he needs
to repay the smuggling friend of his.
After this the Imperials discover the site of the base and start the nice big battle of Hoth...
where sadly the Rebels loose. Luke flys a speeder, and helps take out a AT AT walker.
Before this, when he had been near dead due to the wampa attack he had been directed by
his dead friend Obiwan?s ghost to go to Dagobah to continue his Jedi training in which he
had begun with Obiwan, who?s life had been cut short by Vader, Dark lord of the Sith.
Luke follows these directions and goes to Dagobah. He continues his training with Yoda
for a while, until he receives a disturbing ?vision?. He saw Han and Leia, his best friends,
in pain.
He ended his training abruptly, and went to rescue them on cloud city. Little did he know,
it was a trap set up by Vader to lure the poor guy to him.
It worked, and Vader, who had frozen his best bud Han in carbonite planned to do the
same procedure with Luke.
Instead he and Luke battled with light sabres long and hard, in the end it looked as if
Vader had won. Luke had lost his hand... and all Vader had were a couple of scratches.
Vader had him cornered so he thought on a shaft, he told Luke to join the Empire or die.
He also told Luke that he was his father. Not nice... actually truly devastating. Luke
chose what seemed to be die. He jumped down the huge shaft... and ended up barely alive
hanging on a weather vane above a huge gas giant. Nice view? No, not a nice view.
He called to Leia in the force. She heard and told... no, more like forced Lando to go back
and get Luke.
Finally, they all went to the medical frigate and got fixed up and readied to find Han Solo.
Luke?s crazy friend.
Luke had also been developing his force skills and was now nearly a full jedi knight.
He, Leia, Chewy, and Lando went out to rescue Han. With a bit of fancy jumping ... and a
lot of luck... or as Obiwan would say ?force? they rescued him marking Luke?s ?I owe
you?s? to Han down to one.
After this, Luke went back to give Yoda a quick hello, before... well before the Jedi
Master became one with the force.
Luke was told he needed to confront his father, Vader, before he could bestow upon
himself the title of ?Jedi Knight?.
He did. Luke headed over to the Alliance who had found out about the Empire?s second
Death Star. Luke, Han, Leia and Chewy decided to go take out this new super weapon?s
shield generator on Endor, the forest moon. Luke found out Vader was on the moon,
among other things. He had found out from Yoda before he died that Leia was his sister...
and to think, Luke had, had a crush on her!
After this Luke confronted Vader and tried to turn him. He did, Vader killed the emperor
and in the end Vader died and the Death Star II went kablooy... Luke escaped and went
back to Endor to celebrate.
After this there is conterversy on Luke?s fate.... many believe in the ?Expanded Universe?
stuff that wasn?t written by Lucas. I personally don?t like what plays out... and for the
reason that Lucas didn?t write it I?m not going to talk about it :) Also... the fact my fingers
are aching from speed typing this thing is helping too.
