In Indigo

We lay in trusting silence and this room swims around us in its peaceful repose.
I wander into you with sweet breath and memory,
whispering faintly,
ivory dust and pale blue sweetness.
I dance my fingers around your throat,
along your arm
while you hold my heart in your hands.
I whisper softly,
I'll love you for a thousand years,
my love,
my friend.
How could I survive without your hands?
My lips would be lost without yours.
Whose eyes could I stare into until sleep pulled me away?
Whose arms could I lose myself in.
Take my heart,
keep it,
I give it freely,
as night runs past.

Rain now falling hard like bullets against the panes of glass. In this room, between us, is the soul of silence.
I'm calmed by the steadiness of your gentle breathing.
Fluttering eyelids,
my mind whirls around in its constant thought.
Transfixed and disarmed,
I lay down beside you
and we are entwined, motionless, secluded,
in indigo
