Senator Palpatine

Quote: "And you, young Skywalker. We will watch your career with great interest."

Brief Bio:

By day he's the seemingly loyal Republic Senator, always at Amidala's side. By night he roams as the evil Darth Sidious, using the greedy Trade Federation to bring the Sith to power. He convinces the young Queen to end her support for Chancellor Vallorum, which will free up the seat for Palpatine's inevitable reign.

Although things look good for the Republic now, there is dark cloud on the horizon. And Palpatine is pushing it forward. He will turn the young Chosen One into the symbol of all evil, and will cause the Republic to crumble to the ground. But for now, he is simply the Chancellor.

Behind the Makeup:

Ian McDiarmid played the evil and ugly Emperor Palpatine in Return of the Jedi (Episode VI). Now he takes a step back in time so we can find out how he came into power. McDiarmid did a phenomenal job of balancing Palpatine's anxiousness to control all with his attempt to appear faithful to the Republic. We look forward to seeing even more deception on his part in Episode II.
