THE PISCES PERSONALITY Pisces are both spiritual and intuitive. The symbol of Pisces showing two fish swimming in opposite directions represents the difference between the spiritual and the more realistic sides of their nature. On the one hand, Pisces are sensitive dreamers who can create fantastic imaginary worlds; on the other hand, they know that there's a need to deal with reality. If it were up to them, they'd stay in their own world, since reality can be harsh and frightening. Typically, these creative individuals like to be around strong, self-confident people whom they can rely on whenever they feel insecure or uncertain. They need a lot of love and attention, and the tiniest slight threatens their safety. Pisces tend to understand other people's needs at an early age. They have a powerful intuition that seems to be influenced by a strong psychic ability. They tend to come into the world wearing rose-colored glasses, which helps them to see people as they want them to be, rather than as they really are. They want to see the good in people, and each time they get hurt, they move further into a protective cocoon that helps shield them from the real world. Parents need to help their sensitive water children understand that their protective walls can prevent them from using their powerful talents and abilities. Pisces children can appear to be listening to what their parents are saying to them, when they may actually be far off in their own private world of make- believe. That's one of the reasons why they only tend to remember those things that are either convenient or comfortable to them. All in all, it would be wise for parents to use a gentle approach when disciplining these ultrasensitive water children. Pisces can be idealists who want to make everything perfect in their lives, and they can create a very high set of standards for themselves to live up to. However, these water kids may have a tendency to want to behave perfectly for everyone; Pisces will tell you what you'd like to hear, rather than face rejection after telling you something that you might disagree with. They can be actors who tend to camouflage their lives by acting out different roles, instead of just being themselves. It's important for parents to stress honesty in the home and always encourage these children to express their emotions openly, without fear of judgment or punishment. If Pisces children do not learn to talk about their disappointments, they tend to take a negative approach to life. It's very important for parents to help these children recognize their special attributes so that they can feel worthy and deserving of a good life. If Pisces children are not taught to be honest about their feelings as well as accountable for their actions at a early age, they may subconsciously attract personal and professional experiences that will diminish their self-esteem. |
