Earth Temple (Middle Terrace)

The Earth Temple is one of the eight Temples of the city. Members of the faith of Earth will recall here, and anyone seeking the blessings of Earth can come here for aid (for a small donation, of course).

The requirements on the Temples are relatively few, since the hierarchy and culture of each religion has not been decided yet (or really thought on!). For building purposes, you can make it as specific or vague as you like. Eventually it will be made more specific, but if you come up with good ideas, it's likely that they will be made 'official'.

Each Temple will include at least a shrine (a place for worship), a donation pit, a meeting room, and a healing room. One thing that is planned is for a "levelling area" to be available from each of the eight temples; for the Earth Temple, an underground cavern would be the obvious type of area, although not necessarily. That will be mostly left to you to decide. The initial recommendation is for mobs of Earth to range from level 35-55, although Rick is coding mobs to be easy to adjust later.

The Temple is located at the northeast corner of the Middle Terrace, at a wide flat lot clear of any debris. To the north is the Terrace Wall into the hillside, which is a very high wall below the Castle itself. To the east of the Temple grounds is a sheer cliff falling to the seashore below. South of the Temple will be the Cliffside District, which includes a park, and to the west will be the Lesan Plaza District, a well-to-do business and residential area. The internal structure and layout of the Temple is left to the builder; a park on the grounds would be entirely appropriate, although it will pale in comparison to the Gardens of the Life Temple.

With each temple, we'd like to see heavy use of a color scheme related to the type of temple. For Earth, browns and reds should be used, although sparingly. Like with a spice, it doesn't take much color to have good effect! The entire building should be a work of art, and a monument to the permanence and stability of stone.
