The Gateside District is the main entrance to the city by land. It is a very important strategic point for the defense of the city, as any other point would require crossing water or sieging uphill. A major road named Peruden Road cuts east-west through the district, starting from the gate and leading straight into Corsa Square.

In general, the Low Terrace is for the lower class peasants of the city. The Gate district is a residential section of the city; more of the criminal element gather near the Dockside section of town, but there are smugglers and thieves here, as well as many taverns and Inns for travellers just arriving in town. There is certain to be shops and peddlers milling about near the entrance to the city.

There should be several back roads and blocks of houses throughout this section. The roads here should not be straight at all; if a visitor were to get lost in the city, it would be in back sections like this.

The Fire Temple has a large lot off to itself in the northwest corner of this district. Aside from the Priests of Fire having the resources to purchase a plot of land like this in the city, few people wish to build wooden buildings next to a building of Fire! The Fire Temple will have an area to itself. The northern boundary of the district between the temple and Corsa Square district will be a huge wall, or rather the cut into the hill upon which the Middle Terrace stands.

There should be a visible military presence at the gates of the city, and a barracks should be near the main gate. The gates themselves should be heavily fortified, and the walls should be tall and thick enough to withstand a massive siege. Details about the guard uniforms and appearance haven't been decided yet, but will need to be eventually. :)

Buildings will be made from wood or brick, and will generally be a bit run-down. Not intolerable conditions at all, but clearly not new buildings either. Rooftops will be mostly flat or at a slight grade; very few steep roofs.

A separate area will be created for building rooftops for this area. Also, there will be a sewer system beneath the streets of each Terrace; those will also be included in another area.
