The quarter of the Middle Terrace west of Lesan Plaza is known as the Westwall District, and its distinguishing characteristic is that it is home to the King's military forces. The primary military barracks here is suitable for thousands of soldiers, and the main training grounds are here as well. Mages will immediately notice that the Westwall lies directly between the Death Temple and Order Temple, the two spheres for War magic. Whether this is accidental or not, the Westwall is known for producing excellent soldiers for the King's army. An academy stands here as well, built for teaching commanders, elite soldiers, and even mages the arts of combat tactics, military technology, and other skills geared for war.
The entire District is not a military complex; there should be residential areas and some shops nearby. However, the primary industry here is war and combat readiness, and so the people here should reflect that mindset.
Within the military complex, the buildings are well-maintained. The barracks are all built from brick, appearing quite uniform and orderly. The buildings of the academy will also be relatively similar in appearance, although not as rigidly. The grounds should be well-kept as well, and attractive in appearance, if utilitarian. The training grounds will essentially be a boot camp, with places to exercise and practice. Guard towers should also be placed at strategic locations in the District. Medics may be mages of Water or Air [check to see which other spheres have healing magic]; Life mages will actually be rare, as they tend to be more pacifistic, although it is not forbidden.
For the residential areas, the buildings should be built from stone or brick, and the rooftops should be relatively flat. This is to accomodate a future planned addition -- a rooftop area. A sewer area is planned for the Terrace as well.
The Westwall is bordered on the north and west by the Terrace Wall; a gate to the High Terrace exists on the north side. The southwest corner of the District is the location of the Death Temple, which is a separate area. To the east lies the Lesan Plaza; contact with the builders of the Death Temple and Lesan Plaza will be required to link the areas.
