I was straightedge for quite a while, but now I've given that up. I tried being mega healthy, but discovered that... THERE IS NO POINT IN THIS AT ALL... in my time I've been in a train crash, seen people die, had friends killed in car accidents, and known someone who got throat cancer and she's never smoked before in her life... so much death and suffering going on to innocent people who lead good, honest lives... so I thought FUCK IT! I'm gonna enjoy my life and live it to the max cos I could die any day now, and I'd rather go out with a bang knowing I'd had a great time and not had a care in the world. So that is my new outlook on life. You should all try it sometime!
AFI have been one of my favourite bands since 1997, and I’ve seen them play live four times. I can't put into words how AFI make me feel. I love their older albums more than the newer stuff, but then I suppose that's to be expected seeing as that's the stuff they were playing when I got into them. AFI just have so much energy, so much emotion, and this really shows on their CDs as well as in their live performances. AFI's lyrics are astounding, and I've spent hours of my life dissecting them and taking in all the messages and beautiful imagery. This band have SO much power, so much FEELING, that even though I cannot say they are my *favourite* band (I like so many!) they are definitely the band I will always listen to and never EVER tire of hearing. My other favourite bands include Snapcase, Sick of it All, Son of Sam, Ako, the Bouncing Souls, Earth Crisis, Propagandhi, Rise Against, 5 Knuckle, Refused, Red Lights Flash, Twofold, Ensign, Tiger Army, BoySetsFire, Raised Fist, Two Day Rule, Widget Evil, One Day Lucid, Waterdown, The Cure, Skinny Puppy, OhGr, RX, Cheap Trick, The Strokes, Shelter, King Prawn, Snuff, Looking Up, Voodoo Glow Skulls, The Clash, The Ramones, The Dead Kennedys, Pennywise, Slow Gherkin, Capdown, Lightyear, Pitchshifter, Minor Threat, and my band The Gypsies... er. yeah.
