STEP 1
Open up your web browser, it does not matter if you are online or not. On the web browser in the IP ADRESS bar type in: 192.168.1.1 it should ask you for your user name and password. If you have not given your router a user name and password, then type in ADMIN in the password bar only. This should open up your linksys configuration.
It should look like something similar to the picture below....
STEP 2
Now click on the advanced tab and then the forwarding tab. You should be looking at something similar to that in the picture below...
STEP 3
To "join" a game on xbconnect type 8602 in both of the slots of the service port range and then select UDP protocol on the drop-down box to the right of the slots to be able to join a game on xbconnect.
To "host" a game on xboconnect you need to type in 8602 on the next line in both slots of the service port range and then select TCP protocol on the drop-down box to the right of the slots as seen in the picture above.
Last but not least, you need to enter the last 3 digits of your PC's IP address in the slot under IP Address for both UDP and TCP. Both addresses should match. On some routers you need to enter the whole address. Now there are 2 ways of finding the address:
1.)Select RUN on your PC's start menu, then enter WINIPCFG and then select your NIC(Network Interface Card), or just ADAPTER and it's in the the IP ADDRESS field...
2.)Run your XBCONNECT program. At the bottom select "options". On the right towards the bottom you should see LOCAL IP ADDRESS and under that is the IP ADDRESS field as show in the picture below:
Then Click APPLY and your ready to go...
