*Dani's World*
About Me
IF YOU WANNA KNOW IT ALL, ITS ALL HERE IN DETAIL
Full Name: Danielle Valentine Blake. Valentine was going to be my first name [its pronounced valen-teen btw], but my mum thinks way to ahead and though everyone would call me 'val' for short -so out popped Danielle. Most people call me Dan, or Dani.
Birthday: 3rd of January 1984. Making me nineteen at the moment. Eugh. I don't feel that old at all. When people ask me how old i am, out of habit i usually say '16. oh i mean 18!' I think i'm stuck in this time warp, i haven't lived it enough.
Age: Ummmm *thinks about it* 18. Mental age? 13. Lol. I still love whopping about climbing trees and getting in shopping trolleys when drunk etc, i know how to have a good time with my mates, nearly always have a camera to hand and get snaps of the good times. I want stuff to look back on.
Star Sign: Capricorn, and quite typically sometimes.
Born: Rochford hospital. Spent a lot of time in Great Ormand Street though with kidney failure, convulsions, and that thing when you go all yellow coloured. Can't remember whats its called. But i lived in a incubator green house thing for a good few weeks.
Lives: Sunny Southend in Essex. Yeah, Essex girl born and bred. But that doesn't mean i sleep with everyone on a whim in the back of their car. Chance would be a fine thing! Lol. If thats what you're looking for, call Lis. Haha! I love you really babes. =)
Nicknames Dani, Dan, Danster, DanSTAR, Danibaby, Moon Pie, Danzil.
Hair: Well, i used to have it with the back peroxided, so i was happily changing the colours, it's been bright pink, blue and red. It was so cool. But at the moment its just red, quite a normal red too. My hair, although looking cool was in bad condition dying it all the time. My next plans are to have blonde and blue streaks thru the top.
Eyes: My best feature say a lot of people, they are blue and kind of a spider webby inside. I dunno. Take a look :-p
Profession: I've done the student life at college and now i'm taking a year out. My year of relaxing and bumming!! I've got my place sorted at Surrey Roehampton University, so just waiting for September to come round now i guess. There i'm studying [are you ready for this?] BA Honours in Primary Education with Qualified Teacher's Status (Key Stage One: 3-7 years) specilising in Early Years and English. In short: Primary school teacher. =) Long term goal. Cannot wait to get there.
About the olds: My Mum is called Isabelle, and by rights the person i respect the most in the world. My father, Peter left us by having an affair with another woman, who trapped him by getting herself pregnant. My Dad, did the right thing by us and left. On my fifth birthday. [Great timing, as always].So my Mum brought us up, all three of us single handedly and has been the best sort of mother i could ever hope for. And she couldn't have done a bad job because we're all strong people, know the difference between right and wrong, respect ourselves and believe in our emotions 100%. She's got one in uni already, and me set to go, so i think she's done pretty well as a single mum. I see my Dad every Sunday, and my parents are best friends now so it's the best i think it could ever be.
Brother and Sister: Stephanie, at 21 is the oldest. She's beautiful (she really is stunning, I think) and married. She started Reading university this year studying History [i think?!?] and she's doing a PGCE afterwards so she can teach secondary school. She's as immature as me, and we argue all the time! With her winning.
Philip, 14 is the baby of our family and is the freak 2! Any of my friends who have met him will know - there is no excuse for him. We physically fight all the time, and he always wins cos he's built like a brick shithouse.
Favourite colour: Blue, blue, blue!
Actor/Actress: I like people that can act, not just a pretty face. I like Mel Gibson, Bruce Willis, Samuel L Jackson, Jeremy Irons, Seth Green and Josh Harnett[yum.]
Actresses would have to be Goldie Hawn, Thora Birch [Now and Then one of my favourites] Drew Barrymore, Tara Reid, Kirsten Dunst.
Films: My type of film is musical related; i love the Rocky Horror Show, Little Shop of Horrors and Moulin Rouge!, just for the fact that you can get up and sing. I also like the Virgin Suicides, Go, American Pie 1+2, Shrek [lol], Death Becomes Her, Pulp Fiction, Die Hard 3, Idle Hands, Now and Then, Opposite of Sex, both My Girl films i loved when i was little...TRUE ROMANCE is my favourite all time film. There are more, but i cant think at the moment!
Sexuality: Have been known to do the odd thing with females [alcohol influenced] and taking this a little too far than i should have, but anyway. When sober, i am straight and straight only. Being horny + drunk is a dangerous thing i have decided and has got me very confused, upset and annoyed with myself in the morning...
Tattoos/Piercings: A tattoo of 2 stars on my leg, see pictures for that. Its symbolic [my secret what it really means] and i love it. Cost £50. <3 Piercings, only my ears and my navel. Really wanted my nose done and my lip but my mum would have shot me. I'd love to have my *cough* pierced...but only cos it would be a wicked conversation starter! Lol.
Music: I appreciate music for all that it is, and all types but my prefered type is grunge/punk/metal. I do swing both ways down the spectrum and have a Metallica half hour followed by S Club Juniors. I need happy pop music, it rules. I still listen to the Spice Girls albums because they cheer me up. And i would still consider myself a fan. Favourite bands are Garbage, Hole, placebo, Muse, Ash, Nirvana, Foo fighters, Soil, NIN, Rage Against the Machine, Staind, Presidents of the US, They might be Giants, Queens of the Stone Age, Pink, Less than Jake, some KoRn etc.
I have seen quite a few bands, mostly at Brixton Academy in London and my favourite was Garbage - when i saw them for the first time, i was completely star-struck. Shirley Manson is just fantastic. So i saw em again! Placebo were brilliant, saw Brian Molko djing, seen Kylie, Foo Fighters, Alien Ant Farm, Feeder, S Club, Hell is for Heroes etc etc and loads at V2001 and, Madonna - i went to her gig everyone went mental about...heh heh £90 a ticket, but it was cool! She was the size of a pea, but it was Madonna all the same!
Food: Absolutely anything, but not tomatoes and not mushrooms.
Drink: I only try an drink water these days. And i try and do the 8 glass thing as well. If i'm going out, its another story, [of course] + it'll be sambuca shots, malibu + coke, vodka + orange/coke, red bull, bacardi's, smirnoff ice, reefs anything to be honest. I will never, ever drink absinthe again though. We knew it was banned once - now i know why. Eugh.
Drugs: I've only got stoned twice, and i didnt like it. It didnt have the same effect as alcohol at all, just made me a bit giddy, if thats the right word! I went a bit paranoid and thought people were coming to get me when there was no one there, and that frightened me. So probably not again.
Place: My bedroom. Not what everyone thinks, although it is bed related! I recently got a double bed [thanks mum] and it rules. I spend a lot of time in my room, after a hectic day at work with the public in your face, sometimes i just need some time alone! so i stay in my room, listen to music and chill out, eat chocolate etc.
Best Holiday Only a little while ago, to Menorca. It was fantastic. I loved the people i went with [family and friends] and just chilled out for two blissful weeks. And it was so warm and sunny. Nice tan. Me and Dave [my best buddy] should be going somewhere in January to get away from the horrid winter and grey days...see below...
Season: I'm not ashamed to admit i get low quite frquently and i think its weather related. Not stating i have that S.A.D. thing, but the lack of sun and those dreary, grey days do affect me to some level.
Perfume: Cerruti perfume. Love-ly. My mum smells of armani or gucci and its just to nice to give her a hug and breathe that in.
Friends: I have a LOT of friends and i care about all of them. They have been amazing when i've needed them, lifting me out of depression so many times. When i'm happy im a really cool person to be around, its just other times when you need a hug from someone who cares. And it sucks when people are too busy.
Perfect Partner: I do not hold any bars at all: as long as the person fits in with my sense of humour then we've got it pegged. Too many people are obsessed with looks. [And its not something justugly people say, its true! Just remember, one day our looks will definately go [lol], and the only thing keeping your partner and you together is the person you are inside.
