about me

i am jyothi, a fifty eight year old human male. i live in a small coastal town in the southern tip of peninsular india.

one of the main aims of my getting on to the internet is to find some HUMAN company.

My other interests include science and technology, books, music, movies, computers and internet.

i will let you into a secret - i had ( and i am afraid i still have) illusions about being an author! please dont tell anybody.

i was a keen photographer once upon a time and i have some of those pictures on the net. it is basically nature photography. you can find links to some of those pictures on my home page.

Right at the moment the net serves a most important purpose for me - act as my mouth piece. please see that these pages were made over a period of years. many of the pages were the immediate reactions to events at that particular moment in time and as such the pages are not in any exact order. that is a handicap. but at the moment i dont think i will be able to revamp them; sorry about that.

i am working against tremendous odds and i can assure you truth does not always prevail and it is injustice that mostly triumphs; but rest assured i won't give in.

my digi cam!

well, well, well; i have acquired a new camera, this time a digital one, a canon a400 ( purchased 060923 at a total expese of around INR 10,000/-) and thanks to the fact i am a bit computer savvy i can take photographs to my heart's content without incurring any more expenses at all - get a print only when necessary!

but there is a catch; there is no subject!

i am living the life of a pariah; and i hardly travel. in spite of all that i have started fiddling with the camera and have been doing a bit of photgraphy. last month i had been to the beach, selected a quiet corner and photographed the sunset. this camera can take three minute movies at a stretch and with the soft ware awailable and a memory card of 256mb one can make quite big movies as well. movies of course cannot be put on the net but i do have a couple of pictures taken with my digicam on the net. there are links to these pictures on my home page or else you can even click on the link below:
