vicemanthere is no live music in my life - there never has been! and so i depend on the next best - recorded music i like music; it is some thing that really relaxes me. and, i have been down loading music from the tata indicom's site against the credit i already have with this particular isp.
initially every thing went well. but soon problems cropped up. and inspite of the tata indicom's NO-help line i found a way out on my own and again started downloading music.
well; it was not just like that the initial snag came up; it was all man made. now that i have circumvented that first snag another monkey wrench has been thrown in the works!
nowadays, i am allowed to access the download site. i can make my choice and check out and even confirm the purchase where in i have to provide my account password again. after that i am supposed to be allowed to down load the song or album to my computer.
but in my case, instead of allowing me to download,the browser takes me back to the music down load site. the purchses i have made or the selections i have made, all disappears; there is a drop-down menu where one can find the purchases awaiting download. there are no songs listed there as well. i start off again and the same sequence is repeated
that means i guessed right - the indian gestapo or their pimps for that matter, are stopping me from downloading songs for "security" reasons!
what are these "security" reasons? well; i have no idea. i am not cleared for such highly "classified" information. but ask any rowdy in the streets of thiruvananthapuram and he will give you the details.
Music ? NO;
"stories"? Yes!this morning (that is, 080305) again i tried it out. no; music downloading is not allowed. so i turned to "stories" - no problem; enjoy yourself. but there is one condition - i have to read the story on the computer. priniting is NOT allowed. the printer will refuse to print or may be as in the movie i have on the web pretend it is printing but a white paper comes out.
all the same reshma is still going strong
the secret is that if i have teh story on the monitor "others" also can read it. if i print it out how can the gestapo read it? are you getting the point? these stories are something that the gestapo and their pimps can enjoy reading!
as is my usual practice i have made a movie of what happens when i try to download music. i am going to edit it and if possible put it on the net. in that case i will add a link to it over here.
there is nothing i can do about it and there is no point my complaining that the company should ensure that the services they are supposed to provide are really there. they can always put up an excuse that there is some thing wrong with my system or it is because i do not know how to do it - another evidence of dementia!

the accident and death were one of those sad things which do happen once in a while and one takes it all in ones stride. but i am finding the latest investigation or inquest or whatsoever they call it, very interesting; better than any crime thriller. thank you harrods!
by the way, dont they have something called an in camera trial in UK? or is it all part of the "right for information" of the uk citizens in particular and the voyeurs (that includes me, i am afraid) of the world at large?
