My home telephone is from the govt. owned phone company BSNL and it has got a facility to lock out going calls to avoid the telephone being misused.
while using this facility, one has to dial eight digits. the first three digits 1, 2 and 4 are to access this facility; next four digits are the secret code i have installed for my telephone which is supposed to be known to me only.
the eightth digit can be 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4 depending on the type of calls one wants to lock, like for example to lock all out going calls 4 is used while 0 is for opening all calls.
if the eightth digit is not one of the above four the exchange is supposed to give an error message.
my telephone accepts even 5 and 6 and says that my request has been accepted. i talked to a senior engineer of the telecom about this and he said it is not a normal phenomenon.
lucky that i have the video otherwise the kerala highcourt would have accepted it as another proof of the fact that i am insane! the camera does help.
